I went to the peace rally today, there have been vigils that I haven't gone to but I will now. They are twice weekly, one is tomorrow. I need to remember sunblock.
This was my first protest. Everyone was really nice and it was much smaller than the one at the universtiy (at least from what I saw on the news and heard people talking about) but there were still lots of different types of people. Although when the local news came they only focused on the people in tie dye.
One of the more interesting signs was: Frodo has failed. Bush has the Ring.
The "W: Worst President Ever" sign kept getting picked up and used. There was also a "Hearing Impaired for Peace, Honk Loud" Sign, although I didn't see anyone actually holding that. Someone else had "The Empire Strikes First" with a drawing of Vader's helmet morphed into a gas mask.
More people showed support than didn't which was cool. Of course I think that had something to do with the location of the rally.
I don't know what the vigils are like, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
There were two counter protesters.
And one lady in an Audi yelled "Move to France!"
