Old Guard and some Die hard
I found the Die Hard story I was looking for. I wasn't accidentally combining 2 stories I was thinking that the one story was really 2. So..now I just need to find the other story my brain has decided I need to read.
I saw The Old Guard and I really liked it, loved almost all the fight scenes. Had some issues with the way they were shot--- a couple times it was too close up and I wanted to be able to see more.
I feel terrible for saying this but I really wasn't impressed with Joe's love speech. I mean I liked the words , the words were fine, the delivery was... too rehearsed in a way. You know how in Ocean's Eleven Danny makes his pitch to Rusty and then asks if it was rushed? Joe's speech felt rushed. It felt rushed and like he was reciting Shakespeare or something... and starts hurrying instead of feeling more organic.
Anyway I went looking for vids for The Old Guard, it's a movie there's not a ton of material and I was just poking around on youtube and OH GOD they ALL use dialog from the movie over the music. I hate that in vids. Make your vid strong enough I don't need the dialog to understand what you are trying to convey. That bugs me and the talkign head clips over lyrics where if you know the source it makes sense to use that scene but there's nothing going on in the scene to actually convey what the lyrics are saying. I've watched vids where I have no or very little knowledge of the source material. I do realize there isn't a lot of Nicky/Joe footage to use and also that my No Talking over The Song is my personal preference I like vids where the song and the video do enough of the talking.
