So many random things happening. Don't expect this to be linear.

- The teaser trailer for season three of Interview with the Vampire/The Vampire Lestat has arrived! I am in a state of giddy fangirl screaming and I want the season RIGHT NOW, DAMMIT. I also want a CD and tour shirt. Anyway, remember how when the casting for the show was announced that I was super-skeptical of Sam Reid, and then I watched episode 1 and said "Yep, that's Lestat"? My god, the man has obviously been possessed by the spirit of my egotistical rock star vampire boyfriend, yesssssssss.

- I'm trying to decide if I want to watch The Talamasca, which is based on Anne Rice's books. On the one hand, I've always been interested? Charmed? Something? by the idea of a supernatural observer group and have always wanted more details. On the other hand, I'm concerned that the show will be more like The Mayfair Witches than Interview with the Vampire, and I'm not up for hate-watching another show.

- I bought another Beetlejuce corset-back blazer from La Femme en Noir, with the intent of dying it pink. I'm not worried about how the fabric will take the color, I'm just not sure how to dye it. There's no way it'll fit in my dye pot, which means I either need to get a Rubbermaid tub and fill it with near-boiling water and dye, or bribe a friend with a top loading washing machine.

- Not only am I going to see MCR in L.A. next year, but I'm now going to a Ghost concert in Seattle in Feb. I don't listen to them a lot, but I think they're entertaining and put on a wonderfully theatrical and over-the-top show.

- The Powers That Be are having fun dropping anvils on me via cartomancy: every card for the past few weeks has been about focusing on my magical practices and putting energy into what makes me happy and grounded, because, as the 10 of Wands hit me with yesterday, OH HEY I'M OVER-EXTENDED AND COURTING BURNOUT. (Thank god I'm not using one of the bitchier decks right now.)

- Bloodmilk Jewels has released limited edition pendants of comedy and tragedy jack o' lanterns. Peev got me the comedy one, with the caveat that it'll be my Christmas present. I'm dithering on if I want to buy the tragedy one so I have the set to wear as part of my 24/7 neck mess. I think I do, because I need to be better at acknowledging difficult and upsetting things/emotions/situations happen but I don't need to keep my brain in them. But still, $260. Ooof.

really did help me spot some trouble spots so the virtual group is worth it, two sessions in, even if they start late all the time and aren't, like, The Answer or anything like that. (Not that I really thought that would happen, and I'm only aware I have the hope, down deep, because of that little deflation when it doesn't happen. Again.) It would be so *easy* if I could find something that would make me WANT to crank away in this little corner again and I'm trying my hardest to pretend this is true, but, meh.

Okay, maybe that's a bit grandiose, but that's what it feels like.

For about a decade I've been taking the standard blood thinner, coumadin, to help ward away the possibility of stroke, which my mother and grandmother had at various degrees of severity. It was no big deal for years -- the strength of the pill was offset by eating a certain amount of various green veggies, so I'd take the pill and eat some broccoli and all was well.

Then I got COVID last January. A relatively light case, as they go, but the longterm effect was that it magnified the effect of the pill to the point where I had a lot of bruising, including bruises and swelling on my face. I looked like I'd gone up against Mike Tyson. So my dosage was dropped considerably, and so was the amount of greenery I needed to eat.

At this point it's half a leaf of romaine, or two tiny baby kale, or maybe 3 pieces of dark green spring lettuce, or less than a third of the top of a stalk of broccoli.

I haven't had a full serving of a green vegetable since January and I'm getting hungry for them.

So I asked the pharmacist I deal with about it, and she didn't want to hear about it. She said if I wasn't getting enough greens she could increase my dose so I could have them, totally ignoring the whole Mike Tyson bruises situation. I had my INR bloodtest, which determines how well the greenery is doing at offsetting the coumadin, and it was fine.

Then I got a call from a different pharmacist, who was horrified at the idea that I was feeling undernourished. He has changed me to a different prescription (sorry, can't recall the name), which does not have food requirements -- I can eat what I want. It's taken with a full glass of water twice a day, probably with a small snack as well, but that's no problem. He asked about everything I take, flagged one supplement as possibly a problem (I can drop it) and set it up so I should get it in the mail in a day or so. When it arrives I will need to go without either for 72 hours, then start.

And no more blood tests. My arms are already feeling better for that!

I'm just looking forward so much to having a really nice big salad!

Sometimes we hear about certain actors almost being cast in television shows. Which actor would you like to have seen in a particular show? Or are there examples in which you're glad a particular actor didn't make the cut?

I hit Walmart while I was downtown, and Stewart’s on the way home. I did a load of laundry, hand-washed dishes, swept the kitchen, cut up chicken for the dogs' meals, clipped Pip’s hair, and scooped kitty litter. You didn’t miss it, there were zero walks. Rainy and cold and damp, so I just didn’t wanna.

We went to Texas Roadhouse with friends for supper. (I had noticed previously that their rolls were about half the normal size, and now their house salad, which I normally rave about, was skimpy and the chicken tenders serving was about half what I got before. Hmm.) I also read a little bit more of Winging It and watched an HGTV program.

In less fun news, I seem to have pulled a muscle; the upper hamstring just below my buttock. I have no idea how or when I did it, but it started aching while I was sitting on the bed with Midnight on my lap before bed. It does not feel good today. And I’m hoping it’s a muscle pull and NOT my sciatica acting up again.

Midnight story: A while after we got home I was looking for Midnight. He’d eaten some soft food, but I hadn't seen him in a while. I didn’t see him in his cage (a dog cage where we keep his food, water and litter box away from the dogs), in his bed, or in two of his favorite spots. I asked Pip and he was like, oh, he’ll show up. Then I was like, wait, did you close him in the closet (when he hung up the jacket he wore out)? Oh no, couldn’t have, never saw the cat. Guess where the cat was? Yep, inside the closet. Busy cleaning himself and seemed as if he had no care about being closed in, thankfully. *g*

Temps started out at 48.4(F) and was still only 48.9 at 3pm. It had gone up a teensy bit more to 49.6 by the time we got home (6:30pm). A whole degree! It rained all day, some light, some quite heavy. We got the half inch they predicted.

When I heard about this movie I wasn’t sure whether I’d care for it, but the more I hear, the more interested I become. Caveat: these aren’t ‘official’ channels, so I have no idea if all of the information is correct, but if it is, it could be very exciting.

From what I’ve read (and can only hope is true) Jamie Lee Curtis is doing this remake as a tribute to Angela Lansbury and they’re bringing back some familiar faces (in different roles), including Tom Selleck (as Seth Hazlett), George Clooney (originally listed as her publisher, but then as the sheriff, which would make sense if the movie takes place in Cabot Cove), Len Cariou (formerly played Michael Hagarty), Michael Horton (formerly played nephew Grady) and Debbie Zipp (formerly played Grady’s wife Donna).

It sounds like it could be a very fun movie, with lots of Easter eggs for fans.

I've gotten all of my info about this movie reboot from: Jamie Lee Curtis Honors Angela Lansbury's Legacy with an Exciting "Murder, She Wrote" Remake & Hollywood Flashback Club on Facebook.

Have you heard anything different? What are your thoughts about the movie and/or the casting?

I did a load of laundry, hand-washed dishes, went for several walks with Pip and the dogs, baked chicken for the dog’s meals and also cut up chicken for the dogs' meals, changed kitty litter, and showered.

I watched some HGTV programs and a Hallmark movie. (The new Lacey Chabert movie, Haul Out the Halloween. With my usual caveat for Hallmark movies, it was really good. Her movies usually are. A lot of humor, which I like.)

Temps started out at 48.4(F) (technically, it was 50.0 when I got up, but over the course of 45 min it just kept dropping point by point) and reached 59.4 (that I saw). It was a very cool day, especially since there wasn’t much sun. It’s supposed to start raining overnight and rain on and off all day tomorrow. Yay.
