I'm a slashaholic

Really I am. Yesterday I finally got around to watching "The Wild Bunch" I'd gotten from netflix and I was bored with it. I don't care what the great reviews were it didn't do anything for me and there was lots of random laughter. I think it was supposed to be evil laughter, but evil laughter should be used sparingly otherwise it loses its evilness and becomes annoying.

And how does this make me a slashaholic? Well I kept thinking there were slash-y vibes between various characters. I would watch and think "ohh! that seems like UST." I don't think that's what the director had in mind, but I getting the unrequited oost vibe off Dutch for Pike.

This is worse than when I watched "Remember the Titans" and started slashing all the guys. I couldn't even explain it to the person I saw it with because she doesn't read fanfiction and would probably think I was insane.

The only movies I refuse to let my mind go in slashy places are the Star Wars movies---those are childhood memories man, no one has sex in those. Not even Han and Leia. Also "Lord of the Rings" I can't go there either, no childhood memories (I didn't read it until I was out of highsschool), but it's about intense friendship and devotion that DOES NOT include sex.

Other than that I'll happily look for the slash vibe anywhere I can find it.

Thee and me both, lass.

Sweet thing, I was doing exactly the same thing watching Bend it Like Beckham (a title which positively screams subtext, now I come to think about it) the other day. Lovely little low budget Brit Flick - nothing unexpected or mind blowing, but *fun* and funny and filmed where I used to live, which had me all 'Woohoo!'

And, more to the point, it was full of the soccerplaying girls doing the bonding thing. And while I'm not really femslash!Gal, I could totally see how much fun femslashers would have with the film. But Jonathan Rhys Meyers was in it and I was all with the Oost for him and his gorgeous cheekbones and melt-inducing accent. Damn, that boy is hot like a hot thing. With a side order of hot.

Hee. I love that you're all Slash!Yay! but you refuse to slash LotR. It makes me giggle.

LotR? Sex. Towards the end of The Two Towers, where Frodo lays his head down on Sam's lap, and Sam holds him gently and gets pissy when Gollum touches him?

Yes, I can see the slash in LoTR. But I refuse to actually believe it---look! pyramids!---because it's just one of those things.
