Should I still be treating Vortex with spoilers? I'll cut away anyway. Jonothan Kent is an idiot. I know he loves his son, but Christ on a crutch man! Do not go and fucking spill your son's secrets to the Evil Reporter Man. Just...don't. I mean, Clark gets away with "um, I'm just lucky?" All the damn time. Why couldn't Jonthan say "um, I don't know how the does the things he does" to direct questions and he could refrain from spilling Clark's weaknesses, how Clark was found, that he can see through things.

I'm thinking Jonothan never tells anyone he gave up the secrets to Nixon, I'm also thinking that if Martha finds out what he did she'd hit Jonothan up side the head with a clue bat. I mean really. PLUS Jonothan's all set to believe the Evil Reporter Man who was going to spill all his son's secrets over believing Lex. Lex saved his damn life!

Personally I don't think Lex is a cold hearted killer, that's now what I saw. I mean, one scenario could have been that Lex let Nixon kill Jonothan, then Lex could have killed Nixon. That way he'd get rid of the problems of Nixon, and leave Clark and Martha greiving, then Lex could get closer to them with the "I wish I'd be there in time to save him, Clark you're my best friend" thing.

But Lex isn't like that. If Lex were really a cold hearted killer he would have a) Let his father die, b) not stood there in shock after he killed Nixon and c) not have backed away from his father looking hurt and rejected after Lionel said Lex should have let him die.

Lionel truly is a magnificent bastard. Although John Glover seemed to be tracking his eyes on Lex a little too well. Maybe that was just he way the scene was shot because from my POV it looked like Lionel was looking directly at Lex, right in the eye, and then when he revealed he was blind he moved his eyes so you could see he couldn't track Lex visually. But I maybe reading this the wrong way. Also I thought---hey what if Lionel is faking this. (I haven't watched this week's Smallville) I don't think it's unreasonable to think that Lionel might bribe doctors into saying he was blind, (he couldnt' fake it for long) and then let Lex have a sense of securtiy because Lionel is blind, sort of lull eveyrone into a false sense of security, and then BAM! Go in for the kill by showing someone he can see.

Or, you know, he really is blind and I just think that Lionel couldn't be honest if his life depended on it.
