So, Smallville, I think I'm in the minority when I say I fucking HATED last night's episode. I sat their in disbelief thinking "My god, there isn't enough HoYAY in the world for me to suspend my disbelief for this."

The best I can say is that when they were explaining the Greek myth this time around at least Chloe was explaining it to Pete, who probably isn't up on Greek myths instead of Lex explaing things to Lana---who were are supposed to believe knows Donne by heart.

So why did I hate Lineage so damn much First there was Chloe. Where the HELL does she get off posting about Clark's adoption on websites? Christ that's a HUGE invasion of privacy that even a high school student should understand. And I don't think that Chloe would do something like that... really I don't.I think it was just some stupid ass plot device.

So on to psycho woman thinks Clark is her son. Well I was mostly okay with that. Except the part where Clark AND Pete manage to break into the Genetics lab. Clark I could buy but Clark and Pete? I dunno.

Then Lionel claims that Lucas died before his first birthday. Okay, if THAT was true..or even possible then Clark couldn't be Lucas because he was OBVIOUSLY a toddler when he was adopted by the Kents and even Ethan the Sherrif could see that because he was THERE the day that the Kents claimed that they brought Clark home. Toddler Clark running around vs Infant Lucas.

Also I'm getting a little tired of Chloe and her magic computer. Okay, so Willow has a magic computer on Buffy but I swear the Scoobies don't use the damn thing as much as Chloe uses hers. Not to mention the fact that Clark is REALLY fucking sloppy about running out of rooms when Chloe is right THERE.

Lana's storyline was the least annoying.

So if anyone can convince me why I should give Smallville another chance I'd be glad to hear it.

Well, I haven't seen it, so I can't really argue with you on any of that. For my part, I'm glad to get a dissenting opinion at last. Every other review I read seemed to love it. Now I know i might be profoundly disappointed when/if I get around to watching it myself.

From the sound of things, Chloe made an incredibly big booboo, analogous to her booboo in the adoption ep in Season One. Poor Chloe, any episode in which adoption is mentioned is never good for her.

In terms of the give it another chance question, what can I say. No expert, as I haven't seen it, but I didn't join the fandom for the quality of the writing *on the show*. I was hooked on SV fic before I ever got to see an episode, and given the...uneven nature of the writing, I doubt I would've stuck with the show if not for the awesome fanfiction and fan discussion, despite MR and JG's charisma as actors.

You make a good point about Clark bringing Pete along. How did Pete get to Metropolis -- on superspeeding Clark's back? Windburn, baby.

Lionel was lying about Lucas; the died-before-his-first-birthday was for Lex's benefit, while the locket showing a clearly-older-than-one Lucas with Lionel, and the lock of blond hair, were for us viewers.

As far as a reason to keep watching -- it can only get better?

I was assuming that Lucas was an infant when he was put up for adoption. But I never could tell with the way the storyline went. InsaneWoman (can't remember her name) wasn't very clear and all Lionel said was that she showed up with a baby and that Lillian was sick. But she was sick right around the time of the meteor shower right?
