askye at 12:04pm on 02/02/2003Last night I kept having the weirdest dream over and over. One of my cousins is getting married in March and I'm glad...there hasn't been a wedding in the family in a long time. I think my brother was the last...
Anyway last night I kept dreaming that my parents and I hadn't sent in our reply card. Over and over variations of us getting to the wedding and not being let in. Not being let in to the receptiong. Recriminations of why we hadn't replied. Finding the reply card on the day the reply was due and hoping a phone call would suffice.
Over and over. Dreams about the reception. Dreams about my mother unable to remember getting the last name of my cousin wrong--which would never happen. Weird wedding gifts...half doplin/half whales surfacing in a small freshwater pond surrounded by cat tails.
And always I'm thinking "I'm dreaming, I need to get up and find the card." Then I'm dreaming of finding the card or being too tired to wake up and find the card.
Finally I woke up and got out of bed and looked for the inviation and reply card. "Please respond by Feb. 7."
In my dream we were supposed to reply by Feb. 5.
I haven't thought about this wedding or the invitation since it arrived.
Funny how your subconscious works.
