Collected Thoughts

Now that I have internet access again, I'm having trouble getting LJ to accept my update. And the cable has mysteriously gone out...if it's not one thing it's another.

I wish I had been online Friday night after Stargate. I'm really getting the hang of the show now, although it is weird to be watching the Monday episodes and the new ones at the same time. I stopped watching the syndicated reruns that come on Saturday because it's just too confusing to keep the three different timelines straight.

Anyway I really liked the episode, and the super intelligent computer gone awry is something I've seen elsewhere but Stargate handled it differently. If it doesn't sound too weird I kinda felt sorry for the computer, but that's not exactly how I feel...

The computer was just doing what it was programmed---to maintain the biosphere and eliminating the population was the best way to keep the biosphere active. I thought of Spock and the whole sacrificing one to save the many.

Also when the computer sent population after Jack and Teal'c I didn't get the feeling that they were going to be assimilated and then killed. It makes sense that the computer would want to add them---it would get rid of the subversive element that threatened the integrity of the biosphere, but maybe after they were assimliated the computer wouldn't chose Jack and Teal'c to get rid of but calculate they were beneficial. Although I wish Sam and what's his name and figured out how the computer was making the selection for who needed to be eliminated.

Although my reaction for next week was "mental torture for Daniel again." It seems that he regularly takes the abuse---they think he's schizophrenic, he gets mind controlled by the sarcophogas, I know there is another example exactly what.



I'm having trouble with Yahoo mail, suddenly when I go to reply I can't delete things from the original email.

I'm still working on my Andrew story, he's less Sue-ish than he was originally. Of course I've basically spilt the story idea into two different stories.

I really want to try my hand at vidding, but I don't have the computer set up for it so I'll just wait until I can get a new computer...which will hopefully be pretty soon.

I've been watching a lot of vids lately--in fandoms that I'm familiar with and also of varying quality. Just studying them. It takes a while to download the vids but it's worth it I think.

I have some ideas of what I'd like to do. There are certain songs that have caught my fancy and I've been listening to them all the time and mentally trying to storyboard them. Once I get a computer and can try my hand at vidding I'll start looking for more information.
