My day was boring. School sucks. The last week of the fourth quarter was extremely boring becaue none of the computers worked---network problems. We went from intermenint problems to the whole system being down for most of the day. Evidentally the last week of the summer session the network was mostly down and today no one could get on the computer until 3:30. Classes get out at 4. My instuctor says I can go ahead and start in the next section since I don't need the computer for that, but I do need it to do the transcribing.

Although it's probably a good thing I wasn't typing because I read some of the current DS flashfic stories (the knickers) and my head was full of Fraser and Ray in all kinds of...well I was combining various plots I've read I'll totally cop to that..but lots of wicked thoughts that I shouldn't be having in school. Mostly I was completely and totally bored.

Then I went to the library and argued with them besides having over due books they were trying to tell me they still didn't have in a copy of To the Nines for me. I was notified the day it was available that I had a copy on reserve but I went back twice and they didn't have it and I got another notification, I was going to go insane if I got another false notification. At this point I'm not even sure if I want to read the book but I just want it for the principle.

I didn't get home until late becuase I stopped at my grandmother's and she fed me and then we looked at all this family stuff she found a few months ago, it had been at her house---a few houses ago--but it ended up at my great uncle's. Now she's reading the letters and IDing people in the pictures. And tonight when we she was showing me all these old pictures of my great grandmother and various other greats at the bottom of the box was this small box with the label "wedding lace."

Inside was a packet of lace, an old spoon, and an index card. It's lace from my great great grandmother's wedding dress from 1885. My great grandmother saved it and the spoon, which is engraved with my great great grandmother's initials and then put it away in this little box. The lace was in cellophane and it's more fragile than the lace and grandma has an archival catalog so she's going to order something tomorrow to store the lace in. She had no idea it was in there.

At some point, I thought tonight, I'd type up the notes and things I made about Due South but I guess I'll put that off until tomorrow or even later.
