Today is my dad's birthday and I'm not to thrilled with him. I'm being petty. He's got this...ex-girlfriend...and she recently moved away and he helped her, which is fine because that means there's no more calling and seeing if he can go help her do whatever she needs done. I don't know why I'm irritated because it's his life and they aren't getting married but...she irks me.
Also, yesterday Grandma E called and asked me what I thought we should do for his birthday and we agreed that she'd make dinner. She just needed to know what time. When he got home I told him the plans and that he needed to call her and tell her what time would be good. And he didn't. He called he's not really a girlfriend needy woman. And talked so late that he asked me to call Grandma and let her know when he could come over. 'Cause he can't make that phone call today.
If Mom got the idea I blew off confirming plans for my birthday to talk to my co dependent relationship and then foisted the confirmation on to someone else she'd have my hide. Of course Grandma won't know because no one will tell her.
In other news I stayed up too late last night reading fanfic and trying to come up with a due South story but getting blocked. I need to watch the tapes more. Oh. darn.
I also need to get my Xander-Jesse story thing on the computer so I can see what I have and start working on that. I have the idea it just runs away from me. I want to tell the story of Jesse and Xander who were friends but not great best friends of all time. Because yeah, Jesse and Xander and Willow hung out together in WTTH/Harvest but there's never any mention of Jesse and Xander being best friends, just "buds". And I have ideas.
Not that I have any problem with Jesse and Xander and Willow being friends from childhood, I just...I like this idea that Jesse and Xander were friends, but not best friends. I have the differences beween them built up in my head. They don't have to be friends from kindergarden or best friends forever for Xander to be effected by what happened to Jesse. Everyone wants to know why Jesse was never mentioned again, why he was so easily forgotten, I have my own reasons.
Also, if anyone knows of stories where Jesse and Xander weren't the best of friends please let me know.
