(no subject)

I watched Doyle die today. I got chills. The first time I saw Hero was in reruns and I was watching Angel sparodically. I didn't see all of the episodes with Doyle (still haven't seen them in order since I missed and forgot to tape yesterday's). But Doyle's dead.

And I've figured out my thoughts on this week's

So, when I saw that Spike was a ghost I thought cool! And then he annoyed Angel and it was kind of fun. And then he was just annoying ghost.

I'm over Spike on Angel. When can he go away? For about 15 minutes I thought that I liked Spike again. But then it got into I have a soul and I sacrificed myself and I don't want to go to hell.

I did not like the whole "I'm being pulled into hell." Becuase dude what did you expect? VAMPIRE! EVIL EVIL VAMPIRE! From what I've seen if Angel died right now he'd expect torment 'cause hey! he hasn't Shanshu'd yet. Spike's just a whiny baby.

Plus why did he go to Fred, that made no sense, especially considering what the Intiative did to him. He should be wary of science geeks. Going to Wes makes more sense, except Wes is highly skeptical.

I would wank it that Spike figured that Wes would be skeptical of anything he did and not trust him and so he went to Fred who would fall for his charms. But I really think it's more like "hey! Let's try to have some chemistry between Fred and Spike!" Although I don't know why, unless the show needs some kind of het pairing.

My desperate hope is that Spike WON'T eat up as much screen time in future episodes as he did in this one. There wasn't enough Wes or Gunn. However super smart Laywer Gunn is very very hot.

I'm still loving Harmony and her mixed up cliches remind me of Frannie on Due South. Harmony doesn't have a lot of depth but she does have substance, she was genuinely hurt when Spike didn't pay attention to her. She's never quite understood how Spike sees her, but Harmony always did see herself as Spike's girlfriend and expected that he see her as equal to (or rather better than) Dru. She's a ditz and evil, but she really did think there was something substantial between she and Spike. Plus I really like Harmony's happy evilness.

I don't remember enough of what people said about Angel going to deal with the necromancer in person but did anyone else automatically think that sending a vampire to deal with a necromancer was a stupid idea?

Angel starts talking about going to deal with him in person and I thought "No! There's a reason vampires don't want Anita Blake around...she can control them!" Not that Angel would know about Anita Blake, but still. Wes should have nipped that stupid plan in the bud.

I LOVED Lawyer in a Bucket.

And one small comment about

I missed whatever happened between when Lex hugged his father and then Lex at the Kent's. So I saw Lex hugging his father and then he's at the Kent't giving them money and saying "Just think of me as family" with Clark looking on beaming.

I can't believe I'm watching Smallville agian, but just enough so I squee at lines like that. It sounds like Clark and Lex are engaged. Except for the pesky fact that Clark is underage.

Is he still underage? I can't remember because I just saw TW in bed with Amy on Judging Amy. It confuses me.

Lex and Clark need to run off to Canada and get married.

Well, Clark was canonically fifteen at the beginning of the first season (yeah RIGHT Tom Welling could pass for a fifteen year old back then, but that's canon for ya), so logically he would be canonically seventeen now. Age of consent in Kansas is sixteen, and ever since Lawrence v. Texas, Kansas's pesky anti-sodomy laws are out. So yeah, the boy's legal. For *anything* Lex wants to do, as long as it doesn't involve farm animals. Which it probably doesn't, because Lex is so clearly a city boy.

However, I'm not sure if he's legal to run off to Canada with and marry. Lex wouldn't run into any pesky "transporting a minor across state lines" legal problems, but I'm not sure if Canada will marry people under the age of eighteen. They might well, I'm just not sure. Odd that I don't know, since I, you know, LIVE HERE, but I don't. Also, a Canadian marriage would not be recognized in the USA, under current US laws, which are highly unlikely to change soon. They could get married legitimately enough, but the marriage would only count in Canada, the Netherlands, or Belgium.

Um, I may be overthinking this.

But we forget Spike pathologies. He never goes to a man for help, when he can make a woman his mommy/savior.

And he'd never be humble, never offers himself in service, or simply try to make an honest or rational case as to why it's in somebody else's interest to help him out. Why try to justify himself to a skeptical Wesley or have to give a fig about anyone else's interests, if he can just play on Fred's pity?
