I will get this Flashfic written, right now I've got copies on notebook paper, I've given up tryign to write on the computer. I'll work it all out when I check my word count. I realized what I was doing wrong though, I kept coming at the story head on, trying to bulldoze it down, what I had to do is kind of sidle up to it, go the round about way.
Had my first dance lesson with M. He's so much better than T, no joke. I wish I could explain, but ya'll can't see them dance so it's kind of hard. But if you seen someone who dances well--or maybe does something else physically well---but it's obvious they know the move, the steps, but they don't have the natural spark or rhythm and then you see someone who dances well--or whatever--but not as well as person A, but this person has that physicality, the fluidity, and you know that the second person doesn't just understand with their mind but also with their body.
That's the difference between M and T. T knows the steps, and he can dance, but he tries and you can see that he tries. He's a good dancer and he's having fun but you can see how complicated his moves are, that he's a high lever dancer.
When you see M dance you see that he's a good dancer.
Today the only thing we worked on was following which meant connection and frame. I've been taking lessons for a year and this is the first time I really understood about following, how to follow someone's body movements, how to hold my frame, what connections to make. I could feel the difference. M also showed me how to dance with someone who is just learning and has a terrible frame, limp arms, doesn't know how to lead. And I could follow him. He's arms were at his sides practically and he was barely moving his arms but I could follow him!
And T was telling me to always keep my frame, no matter what. M is telling me to follow the lead.
More importantly no more of T's lame ass jokes, he's stupid music choices and once I get working on tango I don't think I'll ever have to hear "get bent" again. Your knees are supposed to stay bent in tango, the first time he explained that he said "I tell all my students remember 'get bent' ". I stared at him for a second and then nearly collapsed on the floor in a fit of giggles. He wanted to know what was so funny. There was NO WAY I was going to tell him what he'd just said.
OH! OH!
And then! another time in group class he was trying to get people to remember timing for something so he said for the timing "boom chick chick".
Again, I nearly died laughing he asked me what was so funny but I couldn't say anything, What was I going to say? "It sounds like the stereotypical porn sound track "boomchickachickaboom"? I worry about T sometimes, he's 21, he should at least know that. "Get bent" is kind of obscure, right?
