I spent the weekend with no computer and it was kind of nice and I got stuff done. The downside is playing catch up and feeling slightly overwhelmed. Well that and today mildly sucked. On the other hand with
susanw's help I have a cover letter for one job that I can easily convert for another I found that was in the Sunday paper I saw at Mom's.
This weekend I tried to get more organized and I did pretty well. I know have 5 plastic containers of various sizes under my bed with various contents. Including a "the hell????" box. It's full of stuff I know I want to keep but I looked at and thought "the hell am I going to do with this?" I have one more long skinny container I hope to wrangle some more stuff into. Although I'm kind of running out of stuff that needs to go under the bed and I still need to contain things.
Must get job. Must get apartment. Living in one room sucks.
I did take back the bookcase (well two shelves) so the books I have here can breathe free now that they all live single deep on a shelf instead of being two deep and stacked on top of each other. I like to think that my books feel the way I do when I take off control top panty hose. "We're free!!!"
I'm in a mood.
Over the weekend I also watched hockey. Lightning/Flames (it looks so wrong to write it that way) and Flyers/Capitals. Oh by the way I extend my condolescenes to any Rangers fans out there.
I'm really starting to understand what's going on the on the ice. Partly from watching so much hockey and partly from reading Hockey for Everybody Cam Neely's Guide to the Red Hot Game on Ice. It's a really great informative book (with diagrams! i finaly get icing...I just can't always remember it) and lots of enthusasim. The man wants you to love hockey too.
I digress.
So. There's a state sports network and the sportscasters can be really good. At times there will be a freeze frame and one guy will mark up the screen with his pen and explain what the players did to get a goal and why it worked. I like that. I like it when they do it in football too. HOWEVER then they pull crap like having a birthday cake in for one guy, setting a fire and getting in the mascot for, I assume, the Flames, and talking about it all the time. Oh! Let's break away for a shot of the mascot! Let's talk about the fire we almost set!
Let's not and instead, I don't know, talk about the game. I don't care about you, the sportscaster. I care instead about the game.
checks schedule god when will the Lightning be on ESPN(2) again?
At least on Thursday I'll be able to watch Hockey on a real sports channel.
In fandom related things I keep thinking about Angel and how he's changed from S1 to now but when I sit down to type it up my mind goes blank. In the shower, I have it all laid out. At the computer...nothing.
