askye at 11:04pm on 30/08/2005I should be in bed. Or getting more stuff together. I only have tomorrow!!!!! omigod!!!! My car isn't cleaned out. I have to clean out my car. And other stuff. Tonight though I was dealing with killer cramps. I'm thankful my cramps happened tonight and not, say, Thursday when I'm on the way to Atlanta.
But, I'm going to post one of my favorite poems, The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. I tried to memorize this when I was 8 or so. My grandmother had a set of books. Childcraft, and Volume 2 was more "grown up" poetry including this poem with wonderful illustrations --- Bess with her long black hair, the highwayman, the redcoat troops, Bess with the barrel beneath her breast. I thought this was just the most romantic poem ever!
