Ray sat in the chair, tense and anxious. He wanted this---to get back something of himself after the divorce. He picked the image almost on a whim, he'd been flipping through a magazine at the garage, waiting for his plastic, boring car to be fixed and he saw the ad. He knew that this was what he needed, it reminded him of high school and the person he was before he grew up, before his Dad stopped talking to him and Stella wanted out.

It's a response to a challenge [livejournal.com profile] zortified posted today. I'm not direct linking to the post becuase that would spoil some of the fun.

I will say that the time limit on the challenge is 2 minutes.

Go check it out, it's multifandom.

I was going to leave this as a response to your Discourse question, but I thought it might be OT. Anyway, your question (and explination to the challenger in her journal) made me curious and I looked up the original Stuart Davis piece that Callum is paying homage to. If you haven't already seen it here's the painting. I think Ray would probably like Davis' art. It's very musical being from the Jazz age. Although, being a car guy we know why he got the tat. :D
