The Lightning win Game 1 against Montreal.
PLUS Vinnie got his first two goals of the playoffs. Khabibulin was fanstastic!! And there was a big fight right at the end but I'm pretty sure that the Lightning weren't penalized at all, but I couldn't really tell because the ESPN2 Commentators were talking about upcoming games.
Plus they kept talking about useless stuff or repeating the same thing over and over like each time they talked about a player it was the first time EVER someone might have heard about them.
Dude. At this point EVERYONE knows about Marty's round to the Lightning unless they haven't been watching ESPN at all. Or maybe they don't know all the details but they know he's short, he's fast, he's the top scorer, and pretty much going to be the MVP.
At least they weren't like the ESPN commentators and say that Eric Perrin was a childhood friend of Vinnie's and implied that Eric and Marty just kinda knew each other. Marty and Eric were childhood friends.
I would have liked to see the game on Sunshine Network but it was blacked out in favor of college baseball. Okay fine the home team was playing but who cares! I want to watch hockey on my preferred channel.

And my Sharkies seriously kicked the Av's asses last night, after sending the Blues home in five. Even the Colorado papers said the Avs "acted like Beavis and Butthead". MAJOR fighting.
Isn't this fun? Of course, if it's a Sharks/Lightning Stanley Cup final, we have to arrange to talk about anything else in the world...

I didnt' watch the Sharks destory the Avs because I had to go to bed the other night. I probably won't be able to watch the Sharks play on Saturday because the two games are on at the same time. And seeing that the Wings are the team geographically closest to this area that's what they will show.

I'm hoping for a nice, traditionaly Toronto/Montreal series. You can't beat that kind of hatred.

They showed a comparison of the Bolts and the Habs---years as a team, playoff experience--that sort of thing. And Tampa Bay's numbers were so small. I love watching Tampa play they are so fast and exciting.
BTW there was another lj comment you made that I have to reply to but I need to go find it.

Plus there is street hockey and wahtever you call hockey on rollerblades. I've been reading in more than one place that the problem with the game is too many teams and that teams should be cut. Amazingly enough most of the teams mentioned are in warmer climates.
And in the same posting there are worries about how the fan base isn't growing. It maybe weird that there is hockey in Florida but...well...they are a lot of transplants from the North. And also, hockey is a great game and when people can watch it they can get hooked.
