As an addition to my last post...
I actually bought Robin Year One and Robin Reborn. I still had them in my car so I checked when I went to run an errand during lunch.
This weekend I plan on taking my comic books to the beach and while Mom takes a nap and reads her latest mystery I'll lie on the floor and read my comics. It will be a lot like when summers when I was little and my brother and I would go over and hang out with my cousin at my great aunt's beach place and we'd read comics. My cousin had an oversized Star Wars one. I can't really remember anything about it except it was larger than other comic books and the cover picture was the same as the promotional poster.
You know, the one where Leia is clinging to Luke in a very non sistery way. Unless it's Special Hell sistery.
I loved going to the beach...well I still do...but it's not the same as when I was a kid. We'd play out all day on the beach, or in the afternoons after fishing. We'd go inside to play monopoly or read comics when it rained or it was too hot.
Of course I always lost at monopoly because my cousins invented "team" monopoly. Where my older 2 cousins and my brother and our other cousin would team up and I would play by myself. When I talk about it now it doesn't seem like there'd be that much of an advantage but 2 heads are better than one and they would psyche me out.
But I miss it because although it was frustrating that whole time is full of great childhood memories.
