vid question

I've wondered this for awhile and finally decided to ask....

what's the deal with ratings on vids? Specifically Jossverse vids?

I can understand warning for explicit language or that Warren will be flayed or for SEeing Red.

But I don't get rating a vid R when it just has stuff from the show. Buffy was never an R rated show, even when they moved to UPN and didn't have to worry about standards.

That and whacked out crossover vids. I don't get that. Strange weird stuff like Willow/Legolas (I've downloaded one and seen another someplace). They aren't... I mean...how do you make them look shippy in a vid? The one vid I saw was more of a slide show dealie....

We asked for ratings to be included at buffyvids.com primarily for explicit lyrics, in order to give some measure of warning to the viewer, but we also asked that any sexual content or violence be rated if present (some people make crossover vids with footage from other movies or shows that is more explicit, mixed in with the Buffy footage).

Some people feel as though they must rate everything :)

Thanks for the explination. It's really weird to see vids rated R or something and then see that it's just clips from the show.

Eh - the ratings thing is stupid. Well except for lyrics - especially since I won't edit a song for explicit lyrics - but rated R cause of SR footage? DUMBASSES. All of em. I refuse.

Willow and Legolas? Man, you don't see that?? ONE TRUE PAIR!!

Also - sometimes people just have wwwaaayyy to much free time, but you know - I'd rather they do this than get out and, I don't know, vote.

Who does a Willow/Legolas shipper vote for, anyway?

I have to say I'm with you on the ratings thing.

I have to say I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to see the second Willow/Legolas vid I found just becuase I want to know...how???

I'm going to say the Willow/Legolas demographic writes in votes for an Orlando Bloom/Alyson Hannigan ticket.
