(no subject)

I promised myself I wouldn't be all "My diet loves carrots!" (well, actually it hates them....but anyway)/

However I have struggled mightly these past three days. Between waking up late and not taking my snacks with me and buying/fixing things that I couldn't stand I still managed to lose 3 pounds! Go me.

Monday went perfectly. Except I could barely choke down the string cheese I bought. Ugh. Hedious. And I tried to make the ricotta desert thing. Which was so gross. Yesterday I did pretty good, except I didn't eat breakfast and forgot snacks so I ended up eating some apple slices. It was that or potato chips. Today I had breakfast, someone gave me peanuts (because I forgot my snacks) had a pretty good lunch and then had pretty yummy stir fry, which was chicken, broccoli, zucchini, and bok choy. I found Skinny Cow fudgsicles at Fresh Market and I got those. They are more calories than the "Sweet" allotment is supposed to be, but less than the ricotta desert thing (which I will not be having again). So I figure it's not bad if I don't do it every day. My god are they good. Like frozen moussue rather than a fudgcicle.

It was new comic day, which for me was Teen Titans and Astonishing X Men. I can't wait until War Games comes out in a trade.

and I watched Lost. Which I liked and will watch again. I totally missed the boat on Party of Five. I think I managed to watch a few episodes but for the most part I recoiled in horror so I never really got the Matthew Fox love. Until tonight. I really hope this doesn't get cancelled.

Apple slices sounds like a perfectly acceptible snack to me.

I've just finished the mega-ratatouille I made on Sunday. I'm not sure how good it is for the diet due to having olive oil and butternut squash in it -- but the scads of veggies must be good, right? (Ratatouille is diabolically simple so long as you don't mind chopping or slicing vegetables.)

I found that the ricotta dessert thing totally depended on the brand of ricotta. There was one brand that I liked it with, but I thought it was terrible with almost anything else.

I thought that South Beach was a pretty good diet, compared to some others I've seen or tried. Not too hard to stick to, and I lost about 12 pounds on it. (I've somehow gained 6 of them back in the past three weeks or so -- I'm not sure how that happened -- but I think I'm going to try just going back to phase 1 again next week to get it off.)

I'm not a huge fan of ricotta so I was going out on a limb trying it, but from what I've heard elsewhere the brand makes a huge difference in how the dessert tastes.

I think I'm going to stick to either Skinny Cow Fudgcicles or Eskimo Pie brand, they have a similiar consistency.
