I watched The Wire S2 Disc 2. I forgot how much I love this show, and I bumped up the next dvd on my queue. I also realized I had the wrong disc of Farscape, so I sent it back and then I have to remember to add it back to my queue.
Anyway. The Wire. There are familiar characters and new characters. Someone on Netflix didn't like The Wire (s1) because it's too slow adn it takes forever to get the wire tap to show up and that's what the show is about! pout pout. Mostly the complaint was too slow. But I love the slow build for this. There are so many characters and their different relationships and season 1 took it's time to introduce characters.
Maybe I should whitefont .... okay, I'm waiting to see Bunk's reaction when Freeman is pulled over to the taskforce. Actually I kind of suspect what his reaction will be, but I can't wait to see it. Also! it's interesting to see when the two cases are going to tie into each other. The dead women and the money that Major is so sure the union boss is taking (I can't be arsed to look up name spellings).
Kima and Daniels conversation about getting her on the taskforce and her comment about their wives was great. Their wives don't want them to be police -- Daniels' has political ambtions for him, Kima's wants her off the street. and of course Kima was going to go out there and deal with the drunken frat boys -- she's police. It will be interesting to see how this plays out with their relationships. I'm also wondering when McNautly will slink off to sleep with whatshername the lawyer.
And I'm worried about D. He should have stuck with his original deal, or he should go back and ask for something and a transfer or protection. Avon doesn't give a shit about family. Because it'd been so long since I saw the first disc I couldn't figure why Avon was getting rid of the guard, but then I remembered he's the one that was giving Weebay a hard time. But that's not protecting family, that's protecting the Family Business.
I do hope to see D's mother again. I don't really like her, but I love that she's in the business to and has control and wasn't portrayed as a woman who's just going along with some man.
Okay enough of that, I still have to do dishes and cook something for dinner/lunch tomorrow. Then there will be more dishes.
