Cat food is cat food right? It wouldn't hurt my 17 yr old cat if I gave her kitten food for awhile would it? Someone gave me a large container of kitten food and it would save me some money if I just used that for awhile.

I think kitten food is actually higher in nutrients.

Hey you.

When I've had elderly cats, I've usually fed them kitten food. It's easy to digest and tasty too (for cats... I've not tried it myself.) Just the thing for cats that don't eat so much any more and tend to get thin as a result.

Switching her back won't be as easy, though. You might try going ahead and getting her regular food and mixing the kitten food in half and half. It'll still stretch your cat food dollar, and won't be such a drastic change, either putting her on it or taking her off it when the kitten food is gone.
