Seriously Ginger. Don't read.
Seriously Ginger don't look!
So on to the Caterpillars. Dad's weird birthday gift to me was a caterpillar habitat thing, some plants, and some caterpillars. All of the original batch are gone, everything died except one that turned into a beautiful butterfly. Then Dad gave me a monarch caterpillar and a couple of swallowtails and they are chrysalised right now. The other day when I went out in the yard I saw 2 on the fennel plant. So they are inside the habitat, but I have them on parsley, it's cheaper and they can eat more. Then Dad sent him home from his house with 2 baby giant swallowtails (I think) and they are eating hop plants. I need to get another one because there's no way my hop tree can sustain them once they grow.
The two from the parsley -- one eats ALL the time, the other wanders around and I'm worried it'll get sick and die, but I think it just molted. The two on the hop leaves are tiny, Dad had maybe a dozen in one habitat (he has to have two now) . Basically he brings in what ever he finds out side so they have a better chance of survival.
he had one monarch that ended up with damaged wing after it emerged. But he took it outside and put it on a lantana and it survived for a few days. Sunday he was dead, he wasn't sure if maybe ants got on it and it couldn't fly away or maybe the stress of not flying, but anyway at least it had a bit of a life/
You know, SCI FI should relaly look into Caterpillar Man movie. Genetic experiment gone awry ! Half man! Half caterpillar, he devours all with his mandibles. And then cocoons. I guess that would be when he would be vulnerable. Then he'd turn into a beautiful, psychotic, flying killing machine! Orsomething.
It's not any stupider than Ice Spiders? Right?
