Tampa won! It was overtime but still they won! Later today I'm going to get the tape from Mom and watch the game. Plus, I'm totally making Mom a hockey fan, she watched the last part of regulation and the shoot out, she explained the winning goal to me

"It was a like a shoot out. St Louis got the puck and it was just him and the goalie. It started on the other end, the team kept passing and he just snuck in there, took the puck and went down to the goalie with no one around him. After the goal, you know how guys pump their fist in the air? Well, he went down on one knee and pumped his fist and then jumped in the air, and another player -- I couldn't tell -- grabs him, hugs him and slams him into the boards. All the other guys raced over and slammed into the boards and I'm thinking 'You guys are going to hurt him! He's a little guy"

I think if we had a hockey team closer and we could go to games I'd really get her hooked. Hopefully next season I'll be able to make it to a game. I wanted to this season but it just didn't happen.

My memory has been crap lately -- I'm distracted and all over the place. Today I went to heat up leftovers for lunch and took a container out of the fridge and realized it wasn't the right one. I looked in the fridge and no container. It was on the stove. I made the food, ate, put the leftovers in a container and somehow got distracted and forgot all about them and it sat on the stove. The kitchen is in the back of the house and since I don't eat breakfast I generally don't go in there until after work. Even if I'd seen it in the morning it would have been too late.

I think I need to increase my Seroquel because my thoughts are just all over the place and I can't concentrate at all. I have to see my shrink this month anyway so I'll talk to him. My thoughts aren't really racing, but I keep getting caught up in daydreams and totally not able to focus on work or anything else.

Tampa lost last night to Carolina, but it was so so close. It went to a shootout and they lost 4-5. But they played so well -- a passionate, physical game, they looked like a team that wants the Cup. I have no idea where this team was two games ago. And they were at Carolina -- it was so loud it. Tonight they play Carolina in Tampa, which I won't watch live becuase there's a dance thing with dad at the same time. I'm going to tape it and then look at the score, if they win or if it's close then I'll watch and if they get blown out I won't drive myself crazy by watching.

After today they have 1 game left -- Washington, they play on the last day of the regular season. I get to see Ovechkin again. For awhile I had success "acquiring" games, but I don't know what happened and I can't seem to find as many, which is annoying since I don't have cable. Even if I did have cable I couldn't afford the package with Sunsports and OLN. Next year I'll make some sacrifices for hockey, I wish i could get Ceter Ice, but I know that's out of my price range.

Today is dancing and dinner before with relatives. Tomorrow I don't know, I keep forgetting it's Easter. Even though I read about people's plans and see all the Easter stuff and hear people talk about their Easer plans it still always surprises me that tomorrow is Easter. My brain is weird. I have no idea what I'm going to do -- go to church and then ??? No real plans, well, watch hockey if the game was good.

If you aren't reading Slacktivist you should be! It's a great blog -- Lefty Christian, interesting posts by the blogger Fred, he has a lot of interesting things to say. He's also disecting Left Behind page by page so you don't have to read it. He points out the really horrible theology and also why the crappy writing makes it an even crappier book.

But if you want even more reasons to watch he's a fan of Buffy, Veronica Mars, Bones, and Smallville. He has this to say about Veronica Mars

"We haven't seen this explicit a portrayal of high school as class warfare since John Hughes' Ringwald Cycle. "

and this about Smallville "My standing joke about Smallville is that I'm waiting to see which happens first: Clark learns to fly, or Tom learns to act. But still, let me defend my affection for the show by saying that I always liked the book(s). That and Michael Rosenbaum's multiplicitous, doomed Lex Luthor."

Here's his post about Television -- however there are SPOILERS for Battlestar Galatica, so if you haven't caught up with the current season DO NOT read them,http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/2006/04/television.html#more

Atlanta went to the St Pete Times Forum and played hockey tonight. I'm not sure what Tampa Bay was doing. I couldn't watch -- they lost 6-1, which is as bad as they lost their last game. I don't know what's gone on. There was no physical play... a little pushing here and there, but really nothing. Tampa doesn't play a real physical game, I know this, but still-- I'm not even talking about fighting there's no HITTING. The one guy that was throwing really good hits, Artyukhin -- stopped playing as physical when he kept getting penalities called on him.

These are the defending Stanley Cup champs and they aren't even playing as well as the Penguins or the Capitals, teams that aren't in the play offs and didn't have a chance and are just playing for pride.

Last season they had the motto SAFE IS DEATH and this season, I'm not sure what it is.

I hate watching a team I like do so badly and still, they are in the play off hunt (I think, they may have killed their chances tonight). FSU football has struggled and I always remind myself they are a top team, even when they are playing for the Championship, but they have a long history of winning and so I grew up with them struggling, this situation with Tampa is so new. I haven't even been a fan for 2 whole hockey seasons and I see them go from the Stanley Cup to...whatever this is.

I went to the doctor today. She's fairly certain I have carpel tunnel syndrome. She advised a splint, heat and ice when it hurts and taking Bvitamins and using the mouse as little as possible (and bean bag wrist rests). Also got blood taken for tons of tests -- including cholesteral and hormone stuff to see if I might have PCOS.

The wait for the blood test was long and there were 2 moms with well behaved kids. One Mom had five kids, all young. The other Mom had two girls and was helping one with work books. She was learning counting and reading and was at the age where you still struggle to write correctly. The girl would make some of the numbers wrong and her mom would correct her, every nice and everything until the girl wrote a zero the wrong way.

How can you write a zero wrong? Well the girl was starting at the bottom and when she started from the top she wrote it in the wrong direction, according to her mother. The mom said that it's weird but zeros and o's aren't written the same way. According to her one is down clockwise and the other counterclockwise.

I sat there kind of staring at the floor -- write zeros and os differently? I know some people put a slash through their zeros but I'd never heard of the anyone writing them in different directions.

Go to Wikipedia. In the Search box, type your birth month and day (but not year). List three events that happened on your birthday. List two important birthdays and one interesting death. Post this in your journal.

Events -- I put four:

1902 Australia: Female British subjects (with the glaring exception of Asians, Aborigines and Africans) won the vote with the Uniform Franchise Act.

1963 - Valentina Tereshkova becomes the first woman in space

This time it's the DOD.

http://www.defensesystems.com/news/gcn/daily-updates/219-1.html

A high ranking DOD IT offical was arrested for possesing child pornography. He was charged with one count but --

he was running a peer to peer file sharing program for child porn on HIS WORK COMPUTER

And NASA--

At the end of the article it says: And last week, federal agents seized computer equipment from the desk of a NASA official March 29, based on information developed during a U.S. Postal Inspection Service undercover investigation of Internet trafficking in child pornography.

"According to the affidavit, Robinson used both his home and office computers to store and trade numerous images of underage children engaged in a variety of sexual acts. "

There's the DHS official who gave out his work office and cell phone numbers and now these two who have child porn on their work computer.

Where is the Relgious Right? Why aren't the screaming that something be done? Are they so busy trying to "save" the family they don't give a damn about child predators in the government. They are using tax payers money to fund their perversions!! This should be all over the news.

One more thing -- American Idol.

Finally watched ths week's episode. I like Kenny Rogers! I liked the song that Chris sang and I have to find the original, but he sounded really good and it was much better than the Creed song he did (of courseI hate Creed).

Kellie did Fancy! I laughed when I heard Kenny Rogers saying Fancy is what she's all about. They did a real good job of cutting out all the parts about Fancy being a prostitute and the "one chance" and being "moved uptown". I do like the song and Kellie did a nice job, but the song amuses.

Also it looked like a Chia Pet died on Seacrest's face. I didn't watch tonight's show, but I hope they make him shave it, it looks horrible.

Before I go to bed--

I know the current adminstration is corrupt and every day there are new allegations of illegal activities when it comes to money, etc.

But today the Dept. of Homeland Security's press secretary was arrested for child sex charges. He has been charged with seven counts of using a computer to seduce a child and 16 counts of transmitting harmful materials to a minor, according to a statement issued by Sheriff Judd that also noted Doyle has confessed to the charges.

PLUS he's either a moron or he seriously thought that being part of Homeland Security would protect him because he told the "girl" that he worked for DHS AND gave her his work office and work cell numbers.

Not to mention this is the second, that's right SECOND DHS official to be charged with sex crimes.<9> Doyle is the second DHS official to face such charges. Frank Figueroa, a special agent in charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Tampa, will go on trial this week. He is accused of exposing himself to a teenage girl at a mall last year. Figueroa has been suspended and has pleaded not guilty.

The Dept of Justice goes after Google claiming they need to protect America's children and what they need to do is check out the federal government.

It's insane. I won't mention the rape at Duke. I'll explode.

In totally unrelated news livejournal is now blocked by my work filter. Because it's a "personal network device".
