I had a nice little rant about Andromeda that LJ ate. Let's see if it works . I used to love Andromeda, I taped it, I watched it, I was interested in the story arc. The characters were interesting, it wasn't just a show about a Captain...and sort of his crew. All the characters got storylines.

My Andromeda is gone. It's all Sorbo's fault. I didn't watch Andromeda because of Sorbo, I watched IN SPITE of hime. I went from mildly disliking him to actively hating him. He ruined my show damnit!

So I watched last night's episode..crazy refugees. For the first part of the episode Hunt acted like an idiot. There are refugees acting unstable and violent so let's just let them run around the ship! And he was macking on the pretty one. Shades of Riker (I hated Riker). THEN crazed refugees take Harper hostage...but no! We can't *hurt* them. Even if they are threatening to torture Harper! It would be morally wrong! or something.

Tyr goes to save Harper! Whee! Feel the love. But he gets knocked out...TYR gets knocked out. He's a better fighter, stronger, etc. Now they want to torture Tyr. Again, Hunt just leaves them in there. Because...you can't hurt the hostages! It would be bad. How leaving Tyr to be tortured by elctroshock isn't bad is beyond me.

After all that MarySue Hunt! comes to the rescue. He's a better fighter than Tyr, somehow he seems stronger, and he saves the day and the hostages and oh isn't it sweet.

No, it's not sweet. It's stupid beyond belief. I want to like Andromeda. I did like Andromeda. I know I'm all Miss "If you hate the damn show don't watch." So I'll go back to my system of seeing how the people on WX like the show and judge from there.

Now on to I liked this episode. I didn't love it, but there were fun parts. Andy Hallet singing was one of those. I didn't like Fred trying to scam her way into (and out of) Lorne's dressing room, but then I have issues with scenes that are obviously embarassing like that. Like the Wes dancing on tape. I just can't watch that.

I really loved Cordy snarking from above. I'm hoping that amenesia!Cordy will revert back to be snarky. Oh.

Wes! Phone Sex Wes. gah.

Wes in charge and with minions is interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about the whole Lilah thing. I keep hoping that he's playing Lilah and she's falling for it. But I'm worried. I want to have faith in Wes, but we are still to close to the bad judgement call with Connor. Hopefully Wes has learned from this. He certainly seems more confident.

I know I'm reading my own experiences into this, but when Wes was trying to save Connor from Angel...the entire thing: translating the scrolls, being secretive, losing his temper, etc. It reminded me of someone who was manic. Especially withe sleep deprevation. That can make you do crazy things on it's own. And now that he's got minions and he's taking over AI's clients I keep thinking "okay, he seems stable, but you know, it could be hypomania."

I know it's *not*. But I'm just reminded of it in some of Wes' actions.


Angel was annoying with the name dropping.

I don't seem to have anything actually deep to say about the show...I assumed that Lorne was trapped in Vegas with his cryptic phone calls but everyone at AI seems to be dense at the wrong moment. Lorne is being held hostage in Vegas, Cordy is being held hostage in the White Glowy place. I want Skip to come back and explain why Cordy was in WhiteGlowyPlace if she couldn't actually do anything good.

I mean, if she can't do anything to help people then what's the point of her being there? As some kind of battery source...using her joy to power up the White Glow? Because she hasn't been to joyful for a while.
