So yesterday I went to a meditation group and sit, it was quite different from the "discussion group" I went to last Sunday. The big difference would be the woman that runs this isn't a pompous ass.
She's a very nice lady with an awesome house out at one of hte land co ops. Lots of roses and veggie gardens, pretty wood floors inside, kind of a laid back, old time Southern feel, more than a hippie vibe.
There was only two other people there, a woman and her 11 yr old daughter. It was cool, my mind wouldn't settle down because it was all so new, but that was okay. After wards we had tea and talked, they were getting ready for a Spring/Easter lunch and Egg hunt. J invited me but I declined. The other woman's (forgot her name) daughter said something about the mullberrries being ripe and so J sent S (the daughter) and I out to pick mullberries for me to take home. S and I chatted about various things--PS2, LoTR, The Simpsons---also she's sure she's seen me before somewhere. She and I ate about as many mullberries as we ended up putting in the container.
After we washed up and people started coming in I said my goodbyes and left. I told J I would be there next week.
There are two meditations sessions, one that starts at 8:15, they do sitting and walking and then at 9:15 they start back with sitting and walking. So next Sunday I'm going to try and do both sessions.
Everyone was much nicer and more down to Earth and not snobby like the three poeple I met last Sunday.
