Watched the MI-5 marathon. Or at least most of it. I need to go back and watch all the episodes in depth I kept changing the channel at times.

All I did today was cook dinner, read, and sit in front of the tv. I really should have done laundry, I'll do that tomorrow.

Anyway--MI-5. I must have been at the beach when it first started airing. MY GOD! I had no idea. I mean, I haven't really read about it in anyone's LJs. I have to go searching and see who's talking about it. I was just stunned. And the first episode I saw was "Lesser of Two Evils". So, that was just...Wow.

After watching a few episodes I wondered if there are any vids done for the show. I haven't even paid attention.

I have to remember to set up to tape it. I also need to figure out which shows I'll be watching/taping this fall.

Isn't it fabulous? I've been pimping it nonstop to everyone, although it didn't do much good because of its unfortunate time slot against The Queer Eye. A&E is moving the show an hour earlier to Tuesday 9 PM, which isn't that great either because it's then going against The O.C., which I also love (but in a much more guilty-pleasure type way), and which already has a sizeable fanbase, including many Buffistas.

I was a convert by the end of episode 2, "Looking After Our Own", a.k.a. the Undercover Secretary and the Deep Fryer of Doom. The show brings the angst like no one's business. I long for MI-5 fic, but I don't think enough people are watching it. More's the pity.

I was just coming here to say ... ping [livejournal.com profile] vonnielake ... she's into it.

The OC is being moved to Thursday (against Coupling and CSI). I'm not sure what'll end up in the Tuesday spot.

I hadn't realized that Coupling was going up against CSI, that sucks. I guess I can tape Coupling to watch later.

I was watching the Deep Fryer thinking "ohgodohgodohgodNOOOO!!!" The show reminds me of Ultraviolet, which was the 6 episode miniseries about vampires.

I haven't watched The OC, the premise didn't really impress me and I then I think it was another show that premiered when I was at the beach.

If anyone interupts me during tonight's episode of MI-5 I may hurt them.

I'm not sure how many new episodes of MI-5 there are left.

I believe that the Brits just finished Season 2 which probably means that Season 3 is a while off. (Also, the evil cliffhanger from last week? That was the Season 1 cliffhanger. We're just lucky to get Season 2 starting tomorrow night!)

I should have figured out that Lesser of Two Evils was the season finale--it was the sixth episode. I'm really glad I don't have to wait a long time to see what happens. It's hard enough just waiting until 9.

I know! That cliffhanger might have killed me!

I found one story on Silverlake, it was based on a Season 2 episode though so I couldn't judge anything about the story.

A Brit friend of mine tells me she's writing a Tom Quinn/Peter Salter (ASH's character) slash. I shall pimp it far and wide as soon as she finishes it, since she's a kick-ass writer and I'm sure the story will be fabulous. At this point, my main goal is to talk about the show as loudly and as often as possible in the hope that some of the writers in the vicinity would take pity on me and start supplying me with some quality Tom angst. I think it's a workable plan.

Hey, more Spooks fans! LJ has been a veritable treasure trove of discovery today!

Four stories that I know of:

And No One Hears You Scream (http://www.livejournal.com/users/littledrop/35423.html)
Unlike a Living Head (http://www.livejournal.com/community/spooky_doings/803.html)
Night Sweats (http://www.devinemadness.com/kittyfisher/sweats.htm)
The Old Lie (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kittyfisher/83858.html)

"Unlike a Living Head" and "The Old Lie" are set at the end of season two, so please beware the spoiler warnings. Also, [livejournal.com profile] spooky_doings is a fiction/discussion group just getting off the ground. We'd love a few new members... *hint*

Oh, before I forget, I've been stealing images from the BBC website to make images if you're looking for icon fodder. They're not great, but they'll do at a pinch. Find it here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/spooks/index.shtml).

Hey, thanks for the fic recs. I shall stash the bookmarks until I've had the chance to see the episodes in question.

I heard about Spooky Doings, and would have joined but for my weak will when it comes to spoilerish things. Seriously, I had to remove the BBC Spooks homepage bookmark from my computer because I was so damn tempted to look up the episode summaries. If I joined, I'd totally cave sooner and later and peek in under the cut-tag, and that way lies madness and grief. Or something.

But soon as the season 2 finishes airing, I'm so there.

Hey, thanks for the fic recs.

Hmm. I'm not so sure I can call them recs - they are literally the only stories out there (to my knowledge), so it's a case of desperate pickings. Having said that, Kitty's two stories ("The Old Lie" and "Night Sweats") are good, so I can guess you can call those recs. And I feel obliged to come clean: the other two are by me, so that's self-pimpage of the worst kind. But I wouldn't have done it if there were more stories to point at. *g*

But soon as the season 2 finishes airing, I'm so there.

I'm so glad! I well understand the evil temptation of spoilers. They do the debil's work.

Is MI5 as dark and grim as Ultraviolet? I've heard it's good, but the Love Bunny said the first one was really gruesome. Apparently the others haven't been as gory. I don't know whether I should start looking for it or not.

A few months ago I sat down and watched the first three episodes of Ultraviolet. I don't think that MI-5 is as unrelentingly dark emotionally as UV. Zoe, Danny, Tom (the main agents of MI-5) seem friendly.

It took me a minute to remember the first episode, most of the violence is just off screen or implied so that it seems like there more than there really is. At least that's how I felt.

Whooohoo! Another one falls for MI-5. This is indeed a glorious thing. I haven't seen any vids, but if I were a betting woman, I'd be putting money on Melina right about now. At least that's what I like to think about when I think about people making MI-5 vids.

I'm not sure if I'm familiar with Melina (I'm rather new to vids) can you point me in her direction?

I don't think she has any on-line that I can point you to. And I only say her because she did a panel at Vividcon about professional inspiration and used a Spooks/MI-5 clip. So I'm hoping she watches it and I'm hoping she vids it. It's all wishful thinking. *g*
