Day late and a dollar short....



I loved Harmony to bits. Eve was boring. No zing, I blame that totally on the actress, there should have been sparks or something, especially with the apple exchange.

I was very happy to see that Spike was at the very end, not so happy to see him billed second. While he didn't eat up the screen time (or scenery) in Conviction I'm not sure what will happen in future episodes and with the show opening up all kinds of possiblities for other characters I don't want to see them short changed on screen time so this can be the SpikeNAngel show. 'Cause it's Angel the Series.

Loved, loved Fred yelling at her lab people, she sounded so like the odd and bloodthirsty Fred I like. Plus when they were all going through and reading the files and she was barefoot I liked that, because if I were a higher up in a firm like W&H I'd pad around barefoot as much as possible. I hate shoes.

Lawyerfied Gunn took a bit to get used to but it makes sense, I'm not sure what the panther Senior Parnter asked him but Gunn's sense of self worth has been falling lately and he's seen himself more and more as the muscle and not brains even though he's smart. That's partly what drove the wedge between him and Fred and him and Gunn. So it makes sense that he'd want to take the option that would give him the brains. However, I don't trust W&H's assurances that all they did was give him a comprehensive knowledge of the law and Gilbert & Sullivan show tunes.

Special Ops dude needed to go back to remedial training. Seriously why doesn't W&H have some kind of cool carbon bullets like Ultraviolet did. The special ops guy's death was the coolest thing about the whole show.

I love Angel, the character. What I love about him is his ability to just go in and kill if there's a reason. I mean Look! He has a soul and he offed the Special Ops dude in a cool way! Okay Special Ops dude was evil. But, I don't know it's nice not to hear "but he has a soul" every five minutes. I haven't worked through my Season 7 buffy issues yet.

And in the really really shallow area after the lovely exchange like:

"You're a pathetic little fairy." "Hey! I'm not little."

I defy anyone to argue that there are no gay characters on Angel.


Okay, I knew that this was a drill when I went in (I watched it on tape delay and spoiled myself) but the episode still held up. I mean, I knew that the firefighter chick wasn't going to her death and she sold it, at least to me. And the reactions of everyone to Tom insisting she go off to her death reminded me of Wes and Gunn in Pylea, when Wes was about to send men off to their certain death and Gunn didn't want to. Leadership carries a heavy price.

Tom, was brilliant through all of this. So was Harry. Although I didn't really get that VX was supposed to make you raving before you got really sick. That should have clued people in that Tom didn't bring the VX in, but the instigators/evaluators kept everyone's tempers up.

I can't remember the tech guys names right now, but I liked how the younger one finished older one's lie. Even if he didn't know what was going on.

Ruth about killed me with her wanting to go home, even if you just have a cat. Made me think of my kitty and how I'd feel.

Made me happy to see Zoe backing Tom with the weapons, I'm not sure if she would have pulled the trigger, I think so.

The best moment, for me, in this episode was when the evaluator guy asked Tom how he knew there were blanks in the gun and Tom said he didn't. The looks on both their faces through that exchange. I'm trying to imagine what would have happened if Tom had shot him, but now we know how far Tom can to.

Now, about Vicky. How absolutely insane is she? Who makes holiday reservations for someone they haven't been seeing that long, even for a weekend much less for going off to some exotic locale? And the whole "I'm going to break the window." thing.

Didn't Tom do a background check on her?
