I went on a vid downloading spree today in several fandoms. I'm not deleting vids anymore, even if I don't like them, at least not right away. I used to download them, watch them and make an immediate assesment.
I'm also branching out, not sticking with vidders that sound familiar or people I've heard mentioned before. I've found some vids I really like and some I haven't.
The ones I haven't all seem like the images are moving under the music, if that makes sense. I don't get a real sense that the lyrics and the images are totally conncected. At first I thought I was just too used to seeing vids done to faster songs with quicker cuts and editing, but then I went back and watched a random assortment of vids that I like and realized that wasn't it.
It's hard for me to describe because I haven't really talked about vids in depth with anyone before, but the clips seemed to go on and the lyrics changed so the images stayed the same but the ideas changed. I realize that technology has changed and that different programs allow different things, but some of thse vids are really new based on song choice.
Especially the songs with a faster tempo and the clips weren't edited to match that. I know there was one song where the action sequence was sped up either to fit it into the time alloted or to fit the music, I'm not quite sure. I think it was to get the whole fight sequence in rather than the vidder just editing the fight down, which seems to be the norm. So there were longer clips and then this sped up sequence. It didn't really match.

sisabet's QaF vids I know I'm missing out on the full impact because I haven't seen all the episodes. I haven't seen season 3 so I don't really understand what's goin on in the press confrence scenes and stuff like that. I wasn't even sure it was a press confrence until recently. I know I could go to TWoP and read the recaps, but the recaps colored my original viewing of QaF in a not so positive way so I'd rather stay way from them. The recaps weren't negative, I just went in with too many preconcieved notions.
I really really need to send feedback on the vids I've seen. But for some of them I need to figure out where I got them so I can get an email address and others I don't even have any identifying marks on them anymore so I don't even know who the vidder is.
