I've been meaning to write about Soul Purpose but I keep getting distracted from what I want to say.
So, here's some quick stuff
First, I think Lindsey is playing Eve and will kill her/sell her out to the Senior Partners whenever he needs to.
I wasn't squicked by Lindsey calling himself Doyle. I figured Lindsey is doing that for the future mindfuck when Angel, Wes, etc start asking questions about why he's doing good and Spike mentions a guy named Doyle who gets visions. Too bad Spike wasn't around to see Cordy's visions or he'd know how badly Lindsey is faking it.
The dream squences were cool. Gunn didn't get his own but last season when they took away Angel's soul, Gunn didn't play a big part in Angel's fantasy life. I think the most he did is break things and bumble around. So it's not surprising that Gunn didn't get his own starring dream sequence.
Eve fucked up when she had the box with the parasite and told Angel he was dreaming, none of his hallucinations said that, this later tipped him off. To get him to believe he was still dreaming she should have said something weird and cryptic, but that was probably beyond her. I don't believe Angel was hallucinating Eve, partly because Angel killed the baby parasite and also because she was holding the same box that she was petting earlier.
The bit about noticing her earrings was lame though. I'm wondering if her last line about looking within was an adlib or what Lindsey told her to say.
People have mentioned that the blocking when Gunn and Wes confront Spike was wonky. It was, they looked like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. But the whole victory party for Spike was well done. AD's bit of acting especially felt like it was from a cheesy news reel.
There were somethings I wanted to say about Angel's character development from season 1 to the present but that's going to wait.

(no subject)
I also loved the cheezy newsreel thing, you're right. Gunn's whole childlike "I want to hear!" and slapping his head on Spike's chest just totally cracked me up. I was waiting for Wes to do it too.... :D
