I have a car.

My 15 yr old Camry was close to dead. In a few months it would have been an ex Camry pining for the fjords. It needed a new transmission and radiator and despite replacing the muffler recently you couldn't tell. Plus the new ish brakes were squealing again and water leaks into the trunk.

So I had 2 choices--Borrow Money from dad to fix it. or Borrow money from Dad to Replace it.

We went with the replace option. Currently my payments to dad are really really low, but that's going to be renegotiated soon.

I now have a 98 Accord. Silver. I like it. It's miles and miles better than the Camry and the sales person was not pushy and nice unlike the other two we talked to.

I had to tape the Bolts game and not watch it. However I did see that the score was a mirror of Game 1---Isles 3. Bolts 0.

Maybe later tonight I'll watch the game...Habby--what happened?

Congrats on the new car! How exciting!

It's kind of funny to hear about all these people who are getting new cars (ok...so, not that many...you and Perkins, but still...). I'm hoping to pay my car off next week; then soon I'm hoping to get rid of it. Talk about opposites...

I'm in the "my car likes carrots!" stage of car ownership. I love it.

Yay you with the new car! Do you name your cars?

I've never named my car before but I just might name this one. I'm not sure.

This is the nicest car I've ever driven that was mine in anyway...and in a weird way I feel more adult.

Well, you've got the car, you've got the job, you'll have your own place soon enough.

Why, you're THAT GIRL!

Actually, I know somebody else in my Due South people who got a new car this weekend. Obviously it's New Car Time (or at least newish car time). Good for you, may it carry you for many happy miles!

Coolth on the new car - we're very very very happy with our hockeu team right now (Sharkies heading off to St. Louis up 2-0 in the series).

Ive seen that the sharks are doing well. Although I heard some complaints on [livejournal.com profile] hockey about the officiating.

I'm rooting for San Jose to win the West.

Heh. The officiating was draconian yesterday, but you know what, I didn't mind, because it was consistent. I get very ticked off at bad or lopsided officiating, and that goes even when it's my team that benefits. Call an even, refs, ok?

But yesterday, it was consistent. I only saw two calls missed, one on the Sharks, one on the Blues. The Blues - led by asshead Chris Pronger - have some team tactics that include holding onto opposing plyers' sticks longer than most. It wasn't called at all in game one, but even the network announcers noticed it, and wondered why. Yesterday, they called it every time they saw it, which meant Pronger alone took eight minutes in penalty time in just the first period.

So as long as the zebras call it for both sides, I'm fine with it.

I love your goalie, by the way, and always have. He's brilliant. I saw some of the clips from yesterday's game; it looked as if his defense was flat. They let him down a bit. Nabokov got sick and tired of that happening to him last year, and said so, loudly. The result was a much tighter defense in the crease this year, and fewer opposing breakaways.

I haven't had a chance to watch my tape of the game...I'm going to try and watch it tonight, otherwise I'll feel like I missed something important come Monday. Hopefully the defense will be able to pull it together on Monday.
