I got my dvds from Netflix yesterday, unfortunately the Stargate dvd was cracked and wouldn't load. I'm going to send it back with a note and ask for a replacement. If it was damaged before they sent it then I'm not sure how they didn't notice the crack.
When I realized I couldn't watch Stargate I put in Band of Brothers and watched both parts.
The dvd has all kinds of neat little extras but there are NO English subtitles! The dialouge is really hard to hear during the battle scenes with guns and mortars and tanks going off (not to mention the screams of agony in the background) and I was hoping to use the subtitles to figure out what was going on. But there aren't any.
I guess I'll just have to watch it a few times to understand what is going on.
Even though I've seen the end I'm a little worried about getting emotionally attached to characters, I'm afraid they'll die.

I remeber having this phone conversation with my older brother, who'd read the book, after watching the first episode or two when they first aired: Who can I get attached to? Is Winters okay? Yeah, Winters is okay. What about Ron Livingston? If Ron Livingston doesn't make it I'm going to stop watching. Yeah, Nixon makes it. And so on through every character I could describe and he could remember. :)
If you want more tips on who to get attached to, just say the word...
