askye at 09:11pm on 03/05/2005I just had the most amazing experience -- I looked out the sliding glass door and saw fireflies -- a bunch of them and finally I went outside.
As much as I want to move, living out here, with the acrage and the woods and lack of light it makes magic. Hundreds of fireflies all through the back, into the woods, flashing and twinkling like a bath full of glitter. It's just so amazing. I don't remember it being like this when I was a kid, but by the time we moved out here I was bit past the age to chase fireflies. Or I wasn't allowed to stay up this late.
But it's beautiful and I wish I could show you all. I can understand why people believe in fairies.

It really is breathtaking when you see it. It takes me back to childhood when catching fireflies was our favorite activity come sundown.
