I spent the entire weekend watching SGA. Except for Posioning the Well and the first Jeni (GEni? -- people w/nuclear power and no radiation sickness who are pains in the ass for SGA --kind of a long name for them), I'd seen those before and wanted to skip on to what I hadn't seen. But I think I'm going to go back and watch them again.

I just have The Seige 1 & 2 to watch and then I'll be ready for season 2.

Now that I'v eseen things the second time around I like it better. And the characters better, I gave them more of a chance. Like Rodney. He was so obnoxious on SG1 that I couldn't really like him. He's still obnoxious but he's more interesting and he's arrogant, but he's right a lot and he's too confident to be humble. For some reason I had him pegged for insecure, maybe it was the way he panicked in the early episodes. Not that he's over panicking but, well, he's more proactive.

Like in The Defiant One where he's torn between staying with Dr. Cannon Fodder Nyan and going to help his boyfriend... I mean John. And he was trying to keep the guy alive and give him hope, I really liked that a lot. And then Rodney uses John's line. The whole episode was really good.

Although I thought Dr. Beckett (or someone) theorized that the older the Wraith are the more invulnarble they are instead of how close it was to when they last fed. But I might be mixing that up with vampire book I'm reading.

I like Teyla a lot, especially in The Gift. She did really well with that -- not her own conflict, but also channeling the Wraith. I have a problem with Teyla going to John after the impromptu lunch with the psychologist and she tells John she doesn't want people to think she's crazy. That seems more of an Earth hang up, but that's a writing problem.

Weir, I'm having trouble liking, the actress doesn't have much range and seems so flat without a good range to show everything that goes on. Like in The Gift she's supposed to be upset over what's going on with Teyla at first when she tells them to stop the hypnosis, but it's sort of, flat.

Cavanugh is really slimy and I want him slapped down more. It's nice to have a character that's really slimy and okay to hate. I kind of wish he got more air time, just because he does the pompous slimy thing so well.

BAtes, I don't hate as much. He seems rather one note most of the time, but I can't tell if that's writing or acting. However, I can understand Bates is trying to his job and protect everyone, he doesn't really like being there.

It seemed like there were more than two clip shows. I really could have done without the flash backs in Letters for Pegasus. Or maybe just flashes when Weir is recording the ntoices for all the families. For everyone else I was just rolling my eyes and wondering if they were doing that for filler.

I actually need to do some work so I'll write up more thoughts later.
