Here be spoilers for both
This is the first time I've watched SG1 since it went off for the mid season hiatus. I think I want to go back and see what I missed. Esp. Vala, she's hysterical. I liked Ben Browder, loved loved the interviewing and then also his eagerness with everything. Michael Shanks needs to shave. Seriously. I was telling
theodosia that there needs to be a ,uh, bonding episode where Cameron shaves Daniel's beard, the shaving of course leads to teh hot sex! and we'd all be happy. I'm sure Vala would love to watch to. Everyone wins!!
Oh, and then they can shave Teal'c's head, because really it's horrible. And then there can be more sex.
That's really all I have to say since it was just prettiness and humor for me.
Now, SGA. I had serious fears. I was worried that Dadelus would swoop in, save the day, with some big ass pull and that would be it. So I liked that they tried but were thwarted and then resorted to despection. I need to go and watch Promethus Unbound, because I really liked Novack. She was funny with her interaction with whatshisface the Asgard. Also, when she pushed someone out of the way and the person careened into another panel. I think she'll get along just fine on Atlantis, and probably clash with Rodney and that will be fun to watch.
I didn't see the Caldwell puts his hand on John's back, and since my tape is loaned out I'll have to wait to rewatch. Weir hugging John was a bit, unexpected but hell, they wre under a lot of stress.
I've heard mixed things about Rodney accidentally discharging his clip when he tried to fire his gun. I hated that, it totally threw me right out of the story. Rodney's handled a gun very competently --- including being able to put most of 2 clips into Mr Super Wraith in The Defiant. I hated that it was just played for laughs. There were plenty of other funny moments, maybe not as broad as that, but still funny.
I had to laugh when Rodney started whispering when the city was cloaked. I do stuff like that all the time, I know when I'm driving under something low hanging I have a tendancy to duck.
Now Ford. I wish they had held off on Ford escaping, etc until the next episode. Seriously so much was going on that it felt shoehorned in. PLUS when did Ford get the ATA Gene? It was a pointed out to me that in The Hot Zone he didn't have it (I rewatched, yep he freaks out), however I don't think it's mentioned again. Even if HE did have it and there's some kind of line like "Well, it's really bad that we gave him teh gene therapy now isn't it?" I still think he shouldn't have been able to fly it because of the Wraith. However, I do understand why they needed him to take a Jumper ---there's no way he'd get access to the Stargate any other way.
I haven't rewatched Seige 1 and 2 in a bit (even though I've been rewatching earlier episodes) but were Stackhouse and Markham in a Jumper that got shot down? Yes, no, maybe? Am I imagining that? I have to admit I'm fuzzy on what they look like, but they end up in fic. I assume that BAtes is still in his medically induced coma.
I haven't read a bunch of spoilers, but I'm curious as to how they deal with the Dadelus and the ZPM and getting back to Earth. One of the appeals of Atlantis is the stranded without support aspect. I want them to stay semi stranded.
I can't wait for next week.

Also Markham was shot down in The Brotherhood by the wraith dart but as far as we know, Stackhouse is still around.

Honestly I really only know the name from fanfic so I'm not mourning him. Unlike Grodin I liked him damn you SGA writers for being like Minear and bringing on the pain!
Plus Bates has just been left haning in a coma. I realize it hasn't been that long in SGA time, but I hope he just doesn't get sent back to Earth or something becuase, I liked him. At least the dynamic he brought, the show definitly needed someone not to be "whee!! aliens!! let's trust them!" all the time.

I mean what he said made sense. Especially during The Gift about Teyla being a security risk. I didn't like how Sheppard didn't even consider his suggestions at all, just blindingly trusting Teyla. That was quite stupid of him really. Although Bates did get to save them in the end. *g*
