Netflix hasn't been my friend lately. It took almost 5 days for me to get one dvd, then it took 6 days for them to process the two I sent back. THEN they sent me the dvds in the 4th and 5th slot. According to their FAQ sometimes dvds show up as NOW but aren't actually available now. I just don't think they had a huge rush on disc 1 of Starsky and Hutch, season 2 disc 1 of SG1, and disc three of MI5.

It's not that I don't want the dvds they sent, but it's stuff I've been watching with dad. Which means it will probably be next week before we can even watch 1 of them. Although with the way Netflix is shipping it will be Saturday before they get here.

My experience with them is the first month (the free month) things came rather quickly and I was able to get enough DVDs to make the flat fee affordable. The second month was okay, but not as quick, but after that, I started running into problems. They started stretching the time. They'd take forever to acknowledge that they got my DVDs, then they'd take forever to send out the next ones. When I emailed them about it, they said how long it took the post office to deliver was not their problem, when obviously it wasn't the post office seeing as how it took 3 days to get from them to me and/or back to begin with before. The fact that the times got longer and longer was even more suspicious. I mean one or two disks taking longer might be the mail, but every disk? And the times getting exponentially longer each time? I don't think so.

Yeah, they try to keep you from watching as many disks as possible so that you aren't saving any money by using them. I finally cancelled my subscription. It's a pain because for me, living in a rural area with no big chain video stores like Blockbuster, it's hard to find a lot of things.

I'm not the only one to have this problem either. When I bitched about it in my livejournal, someone replyed to tell me that she lived in the same city as one of the distrobution centers and that it only took like one to two days to get her disks... by the time she cancelled her service, it was taking a week and a half! Somehow I doubt that driving from one side of town to the other takes the post office a week. Even if they had to get the disks from another center, it shouldn't have taken that much time EVERY time.

I've had Netflix now since Feb 2002, and for the majority of the time I haven't had many problems. Well, they've sent me broken discs, never gotten back stuff I sent, I kept 2 dvds for so long I might as well have bought them (they were lost).

I was getting a good turn around, with discs coming to me the next day, but it's just wierd. In fact, I have one disc out for 4 weeks now because Mom hasn't watched it. I've also been on the various plans -- 4 discs, 2, 3, etc. Right now I'm on two.

The actual turn around between them posting that they had it and sending out the next two was incredible quick this time.

I'll bitch about it, but I'm not going to cancel.
