askye at 12:50pm on 18/11/2005Last night I finally figured out what I've been doing wrong at the end of the rows. I ended up searching for step by step crochet pictures and found a couple that were nicely labeled. I ended up ripping out everything and starting over (I'm still using my practice yarn). I've lost count how many times I've done that, but that's how I figured out what I was doing wrong with the foundation row and now my chain stitches are much tighter.
So my practice yarn is looking scarf-like and rows are even. I haven't made a gauge for the pattern but I'll do that tonight and see what adjustments I need to make and then get yarn this weekend. I'll hit Wal Mart and also the yarn store. I'm just going to do a single color, but I haven't found a verigated (is that spelled right?) yarn with colors that look right for my brother. I really hope he likes this scarf.
