I didn't troll for this! It fell in my lap. I don't know why bad fic is attracted to me. The book is The Chairman by Stephen Frey and it had several very positive reviews on amazon.com "it's his best book ever!" (can you imagine how bad his bad ones are?)

Honestly, I've read the back covers and stayed far, far away. But I am always attracted to his books, because I adore Steven Fry and get confused for a minute.
