I went to the doctor yesterday and they prescribed Metformin for the PCOS. It's a medication for diabetes but it helps get the insulin under control, which will help get my hormones back on track. Next Thursday I have a lovely pelvic ultrasound to look forward to. Then I have a follow up appointment in January. There are side effects to the Metformin, so instead of starting at a full dose I'm working my way up. Right now I'm taking 1 500 mg pill after dinner. I'll work my way up to 2 in the morning after breakfast (which I'll have to start eating) and 2 after dinner. From what I've read the excess weight will start melting off and I'm so looking foward that because I'm the heaviest I've ever been.
I always say that. This is the heaviest I've ever been and then I gain weight. I know people who have clothes from years past, from high school even, and not me. Because I'm always my heaviest and I'm always too fat for clothes bought last season. And I don't eat that badly, really. I really hope I can lose the weight.
