Hockey

Tampa won! Didn't see much of the game, I was at Mom's but I saw Andre score the 4th goal. Andre Roy!! I love him, he's a funny player. Tough guy on the ice but a goofball.

It went to OT which means the Trash got a point, but Tampa beat them down so we're still on top of the division!!!

I see that the Sabres/Senators game was one to watch. 120 PIM in 2 periods. Goalies getting tossed from the game even.

And they say all the hitting and fighting has gone from the game.

I thought about you when I heard the score! Hee. I love the guys that don't take themselves seriously. What happened in the Sens game? Someone lip off, or what?

I'm not sure what happened but all 12 players who were on the ice at the time had a 5 minute brawl. From what I read on ESPN (and on the hockey lj), Drury got hit by a Sen and got hurt, which led to all the players squaring off and Biron rushing over to meet with Emery (and we all know he has a mean streak). It looks like only 100 PIM, the goalies were ejected.

Someone on lj said you could hear a Sabre saying "Don't go after my fucking captain". Drury went out with an injury.

And the game was 6-5 in a shoot out, so lots of scoring to go along with the fighting.

As for Roy -he wasn't with the team for most of the season, I think he was traded (or he left, I can't remember we had a lot of players leaving). But then they brought him back. He's not a goal scorer but he's an enforcer and I heard rumors that his presence in the locker room was part of why he was brought back.

Bobby Taylor (our color guy) was said after he scored that he'd joked earlier "I may not have a goal but I did save 15% on Geico!" He's always joking around and pulling pranks. Our Stanley Cup season Sunsports did a feature on him and from what I understand he's one of the tough guy on the ice/softie off the ice types.

At the end, the coaches are yelling at each other, it looks like they are about to jump across the void and go at it!

What in the world! That's completely crazy. Not only a goalie fight, but a someone-else fighting the goalie fight! Nuts! The tv guy in between the coaches cracks me up. It looks like he's sure he's about to get clobbered in crossfire.

I guess because Emery has a history of fighting (and I'm guessing Biron never has) Peters felt he was protecting his goalie or something.
