I have to watch both episodes together to get a better idea of it. I've read some criticism about too much man pain and JA's tears, which were good ! But yeah on the heels of the wish episode and everything it was a little...much. But JA does man pain so well, and he brought different shadings to it so it wasn't exactly the same. although I may be blinded by the OH DEAN! flailing going on.
I liked the Crossroads Demon and her deal, the little "Fire sale" remark and also when she stopped Dean from begging. I thought she was going to play with that, make him beg more. Because she could have made him beg for a year. She could have dickered him down to 24 hours and made him beg for that. And it would have been weirdly hot and pathetic, with Dean broken and begging for whatever scrap she threw his way.
It's still Dean's Dumbass Deal with the Demon. I knew he couldn't keep it from Sam, Sammy is too smart and Dean needs to stop underestimating him. Bobby rocked as well. Maybe we heard too much about Dean's low self esteem but the scenes with Bobby were fantastic and I wouldn't have traded them.
Sam! Sammy killed Jake and I'm glad, it did look like he came back wrong but I'm glad he killed her. The YED may have been saying that Sammy's his favorite or whatever but if he gave Sam the gun Sammy would have killed him, YED wouldn't have any leverage. What was he going to offer? to release John from hell?
And this was a good ending if it had been (god forbid) the series finale. The YED is dead, there's a reason for them to keep fighting and John is saved as much as he could be. (although maybe there will be reason to bring John back - like flashbacks! long live the flashback!)
Personally I was worried they were going to drag YED into S3 and then it would have stopped been interesting and been more for the love of GOD! kill him already.
There are going to be so many incredible vids coming out of these last few episodes. I can't wait to see them.
Also, I may be able to break my issue with vids being made by songs heavily featured in the actual series if someone could do a good vid to Carry On. I can't explain what my issue is but I have an irrational dislike for vids that use songs that were heavily features in a show, especially with a montage.
