askye, there are a lot of Western Buddhists in my town, and one thing I've noticed is that a lot of them seem to be attracted to the Buddhist / Zen thing because it is precisely what they aren't. There are a lot of them that are very nuerotic. I find them very amusing though.

I kept sitting there thinking "is it time to go yet? how rude would it be to get out and leave? dude! I coulda stayed home and read B'cracy posts all morning."

It was so...I had to remind myself I was a guest and not a troll and calling this guy a hypocrite wouldn't have gone over well either.

There are a few other Buddhist groups in town (by which I mean 3 or 4), but except for this one and the one i'm going to next Sunday, they are all very formal. And two of them are Tibetan, which I'm not interested in.

So, I have hopes for the next week. If not, I go back to reading whatever I can get my hands on and trying to find on line resources.
