My Spike would have assumed that anyone who used 'Spander' was talking about a new type of synthetic material and would have killed them and raided their closet.

I know what you mean... I would have loved to have seen him be evil again. I really, really would have. And, yes, Xander should have found him either after the Magic Box sex with Anya or after the attempted rape and staked him into dust.
