I loved this episode. I'm filled with Fred love. From her reaction to Spike's sob story, to her smack down of "Angel killed one with a pen" and her dealing with the dr. THWACK!
YAY! I love ruthless Fred.
I'm still not happy with Spike and his presence but at least he didn't really do much so there wasn't a whole lot of scenery chewing.
I've read some mixed reactions to Angel handing over the dr to be eaten. But, frankly, the dr totally deserved it. From Fred's reaction to the photos I took it that he's been doing stuff he shouldn't for awhile and that Nina isn't the first person to suffer from the dr selling people out. If the dr didn't want to risk the chance of something bad happening to him then he shouldn't work for Wolfram & Hart, he's lucky he's just being eaten alive. I know that sounds horrible, but frankly I think being kept in a chamber for spare body parts is worse.
And Angel did say in Conviction that we'd seen the last of mercy and, well, his actions would prove it. He said that line and then blew a guy's head off. Angel the series isn't going to be happy and jolly, not that it ever is, but I hope the show continues this darker trend. Because it's KEEN.
I don't want a lot of Spike and I'm hoping the nudity warning is for naked!Fred. Becuase that was her in the shower right?
Comment about Angel and The BratQueen's series When everyone was in Angel's apartment at the end of the episode I kept thinking "But no! That's not right, that's for Wes and Angel only. There was another time in the show, I can't remember when I think Wes said something and I thought about how Angel is supposed to posses Wesley....I need to go back and reread Pet.

Although it's never clear exactly what happened to any of them afterward.
But, some people are squicked by the very idea of letting the dr stay in the Bistro and getting hauled away by the bad guys. That Angel let him stay instead of, I don't know, rescuing. Like the dr was somehow a victim in the situation.

Yes, I quite liked Fred last night. I loved her smack down of Spike's manipulations. "There was blood spilled.. yadda yadda." "Oh my god, you're so full of crap!" LOL She was cute. I'm lovin' the Lorne though. His little pep talk to Angel was good. (His obsession w/ Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom last week cracked me up.) And I really liked Protective!Wes getting on to Fred about Knox. Cute.
I only started watching the show for Spike and he's not doing it for me either. I want more snarky. I want him and Angel bitching at each other. Right now he's really a waste of space, so I can understand your annoyance.
As for icons, try going here. The very last icon is an Angel one with the "I have no problem spanking men" bit from the premiere. There are a couple other ones as well as some good Wes ones.

Angel is an AWESOME show. I'm glad Spike got you into it, but the show is so much more than snark between Angel and Spike. It has a completely different flavor than Buffy. Buffy was much more colorful, light and airy (at least before she came back from heaven).
However, Angel was never colorful and airy. Angel has always been dark, noir and wonderful. Wesley's character development alone is a thing of joy and beauty. Unlike BtVS, AtS didn't have Big Bads of the season, AtS fought monsters of the week but the Biggest Bad has always been Wolfram & Hart, they've dominated EVERYTHING.
The evil always comes back around to Wolfram & Hart. They are there in the first episode. And Lindsey. Lindsey and Angel had amazing chemistry, such wonderful twisted chemistry. God, you could feel all the frustrated sexual energy how they wanted to fuck each other and fuck each other over.
And Five by Five and Sanctuary---the contiuation of Faith's story is in Angel.
Am I pimping Angel too hard?
