Collected Thoughts

Last night the power went out in the middle of the second period of the
Tampa Bay at Vancouver game. There were penalties for fighting (if I'm remembering this right) so it was 4 on 4 and Vancouver scored just seconds into it. And then there was no power. I was pissed because during the first period something similiar happened and then Tampa Bay answered with a goal.

So when I stopped watching the score was 3-2 Tampa. The game went into overtime! And Vancouver beat Tampa Bay. Damnit!

Also since Tampa is my team by default I'm going to have to read up on them. I'm starting to recognize players names.

Also thanks e_juliana for explaining icing to me. And bluster for telling me about The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hockey.

Hopefully tonight the power will stay on for hockey.

In the things I'd never thought I'd see happen.

Mom is a life long Republican. She's only voted Democrat once and that was against JEB! for Gov of Florida. In the last election she chose not to vote because while she didn't like Bush, she really really didn't like Gore.

Times have changed and Bush has been our president and he's pissed off Mom enough that at one point she's said "I'd vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is."

Today we were talking and she was pissed at the results in Iowa. "I don't want Kerry to be president. I don't trust him. What about Howard Dean? I want him." Then she remembered some statistic that said the winner of Iowa isn't the Democratic candidate she felt more relief.

There is no way in HELL Mom would ever actively want Dean to be president under normal circumstances.

It makes me wonder how many other Republicans are being turned off by Bush and deciding to vote for a Democrat this year.

I've been meaning to write about Soul Purpose but I keep getting distracted from what I want to say.
