Angel
So I didn't watch last week because I wanted to wait and not have Angel end yet. And then I wasn't going to watch tonight but about 15 mins in I changed my mind.
ANGEL!! So, I missed things like Angel saying that he wanted Lindsey to be in charge of things...
However, I firmly believe that Angel asked Lorne to kill Lindsey and that was the "one last job" not killing the obvious bad guys. Because why would that be so distasteful to Lorne? Plus I don't think, given Lindsey's history, that Angel COULD trust him to stay good. Or at least not really evil. The boy's flipped sides every time a better offer has come up. Plus Lindsey seemed convinced that he and Angel would fight (I heard an implied "to the death") when he was talking to Eve.
Some people think Angel should have killed Lindsey but I liked it better this way. It fits more with how they view each other. Lindsey's been obsessed with Angel and he was so sure that Angel would want to fight him. Angel hasn't viewed Lindsey the same way. A major pain in the ass, someone who he can't trust and tries to fuck his life over, but Angel hasn't been obsessed with Lindsey.
Lindsey wasn't as important to Angel as Angel was to Lindsey. I mean, Lindsey did all of that to fuck up Angel's life and Angel just seemed to forget that Lindsey existed.
Angel picked what was most important to him and delegated the rest. Including killing Lindsey. not to mention that Angel sounded positive that Lindsey wasn't coming for Eve.
As for Wes and Fred. I loved Wes's death. It was painful and hard to watch but it was so perfectly what the show is about. I can't count the number of times I've jumped off the couch screaming "HOLY SHIT!!!" or just sat there stunned in disbelief and fascination. I've come to expect that Joss or Tim or whoever will do what ever they think is right for the show and also what will make the auidence scream and yoller (in a good way). Wesley's death was both. Wesley was so broken at the end, so much had been taken away from him. He had no perfect day, the only thing he wanted was taken from him forever. Someone over on b.org said that when Wes asked Illyria to lie to him that it sounded like Buffy's line in Lie to Me.
Wes was the last of the original MOG as well. Hamiliton siad that Angel failed Doyle and Cordy and while that's not really true, it can also be said that Angel failed Wes and they all -- Doyle, Cordy, and Wes -- paid the price somehow.
CONNOR!! Healthy and sane and with a good attitude. I'm so glad, I'm so proud of him. YAY!!
I loved the ending. I loved that they met in the alley in the rain. I love that they were all going to fight. I've said for a long time that I wanted to die -- and I wanted it to be fists and fangs, up against the wall. Joss left me so that I don't know if Spike died or not but he went to the battle fists and fangs with his back against the wall. I loved that Angel the series ended with what Angel the character has lived -- fighting the good fight and trying to help the helpless. Because ultimately that's what they are doing.
Angel has almost always had the odds stacked against him and he keeps finding away to come through and fight. If there had been a pat ending I probably would have been horribly disappointed. This isn't Buffy, the evil doesn't begin and end in Sunnydale or with the Hellmouth. What Angel fights is bigger, more sinister, and better organized.
There's probably more I have to say but that's it for now.

I totally agree.
Lindsey wasn't as important to Angel as Angel was to Lindsey.
Yes. This.
I loved that they met in the alley in the rain.
I know! The alley! I meant to mention this in my post and forgot.

So true. This ended exactly the way it should have, I think.

Possibly the truest thing that has ever been written about any television show.
