Collected Thoughts

Frances isn't here. But it's started pouring down rain and the wind has really picked up. THe pine trees are shedding small limbs and pine cones like crazy.

I went to the grocery store to pick up stuff, and then went back for flashlights and STILL forgot to get what I really needed. Damnit.

There were flashlights but not much ice. People were buying water like crazy. Although some people were just shopping like it was normal. At least I think they were, cake and wine aren't things I consider hurricane necessities.

Frances is already bad. I was watching the news and thinking those people who are standing out there in the weather broadcasting live are nuts. Evidentally one correspondent got hit with a piece of stryafoam and was seriously injured. I'm in the Big Bend area so we won't be get hit as bad, but it's kind of up in the air, there's always the direction it travels and also if it crosses into the Gulf and comes back out. I figure at least there will be lots of flooding and trees down. Hopefully no electricity going out.

I also realized that the big mirror in my bathroom is kind of loose. We may have to take that down if it looks like the storm will hit here bad. Mom's got her garage she can get into, it's partially under a hill and we have the hall if that's what it comes to. This house was built in the 70s and they built stupid floor plans. Also we live in the county so if the power goes, so goes our water.

Hmmm...it's sounding like maybe I should stay with Mom. I'll see how it goes.

If there's anyone out there that still doesn't have an Gmail account and wants one I have FOUR invites.

I woke up this morning and I was back to 6 invites and now I have four remaining.

Right now I'm kicking myself for not taking National Government this semseter. There's so much going on.

Well, next semster there will post election stuff and (please God!) a new president.

Today. Not my day.

Broke something at work. Ran an errand at lunch and was late getting back.

Left work only to discover a flat tire, went to the closest tire place. They tested it twice and couldn't find a leak so they replaced the valve -- FOR FREE!!! But that was about an hour out of my day. Haven't technically finished my homework since I technically didn't start it until tonight.

I was *thinking* about it. A lot. Basically it's just reading and writing down some stuff but not a lot.

I've been in a funk and it's probably PMS considering yesterday I cried my way through most of Serenity. Sniff!!! Joss wuz robbed!!!

Soon, I promise, there will be fandom stuff in here again. I keep meaning to write about the various vids I've downloaded and watched since Vividcon ,but I get busy. It won't be tomorrow because that's my LONG ASS DAY that begins with me being at the polling place at 7 tomorrow so I can vote before I go to work and ends around 9, when I get home from my class.

I got nothing fannish right now ... sorry...

Ther are some words I love to say just to say them.

Crunchy is one. Crunchy! Crunchycrunchycrunchy! One reason I like Taco Bell is ordering cruncy tacos.

I can't tell you why I like to say it, but it's a happy word.

Sparkly!!! Is another. SPARKLY!!!! This comes from The Secret of NIMH where the bird (voiced by Dom DeLouise) was easily distracted by sparklies and would say "oooooh!!!Sparkly!!" I'm easily distracted by the sparkly.

Queue. Not cue. Even though they sound the same in my head I can clearly see the differnce.

Tickybox is my new favorite word. Tickybox. I have no reason to say this outloud whatsoever.

But when I see lj polls I have to say Tickybox!! It's a fun word~!

I'm way to easily amused.

I'd love a tickybox icon. Or a t shirt.

I finally watched last week's Stargates.
