I didn't watch this when it first came on. I can't remember exactly why but I was sort of put off by the "girl detective" thing, something about her working with her dad seemed false and even though a teen age vampire slayer was fine this wasn't.

But in my recent spirit of give everything another try mode I watched the first episode.

Evidentally I was on CRACK at the time because this is GOOD! Really good! I like the visual style,  I like the characters, and I like the story lines.  And I hate Logan. Since I'm only on the second episode I'm really confused by the Logan/Veronica shipping...is it supposed to be a love-hate thing or what?

If you are planning to fly anywhere in the immediate future do not carry on any type of liquid or gel this includes toothpaste, hair gel, perfume, lotions and creams of any type.   No liquids.

Any of these things can be checked but not carried on.  If it's not checked it will be thrown away.

If you are traveling with expensive wine, liquor, perfume, beauty products, whatever check it or don't take it.

Expect long lines, delays, and baggage searches.

Please remember to be patient with everyone and that Airport employees are not doing this to be obnoxious but are trying to ensure the safety of all passengers.  The more cooperative everyone is the faster things will go.

I got Mom slightly hooked on X Games. We were watching the Moto X tricks competetion last night. I went home before it was over but she watched Travis whoever do a double back flip.  Today she was at the convienence store getting a drink and two guys behind her were talking about it and she told them "I don't mean to eavesdrop, but my daughter got me hooked on X Games and that was just amazing! " and  they all agreed that the judge who didn't give him a 100 was crazy.

Tomorrow's Mom's birthday and asked her what she wanted to do. She told me that she'd like to go out to her favorite Mexican place and also asked if I would go with her to Best Buy to help her pick out a flat panel --- either monitor or tv she said both at one point but I know she's only getting one. I think she should get a flat panel tv.

I finished
Servents of Twilight - Deen Koontz. It was okay. Not as interesting as Whispers (I think that's the name).  It had the kid who's smarter /more adult like than average and the protective/friendly dog.  I wasn't satisfied with the end .  But I did start skimming because I wanted to see what happened with the evil crazy lady.

Currently reading
Emma - Jane Austen.  This is the first time I've gotten past Chapter 1 of an Austen novel. Before I think I was trying Pride and Prejuidice.  I'm finding it more interesting than Pride and Prejuidice.  It makes me want to watch Clueless again so I can see which aspects of the story they kept.  Emma was going to do a picture of Harriet and what's his name is all interested and I'm sure it's just because Emma painted it and he's smitten with Emma.

Of course every time I pick up the book I think of [profile] susanw.

My house is clean. I rearranged the books so that all the unread ones are together. I have more than I thought but that's because of the boxes of sci fi books acquired earlier.  I started 2 only to realize I'd read them before but didn't remember how they ended (until I looked in the back).

The books I've read are:

Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Cruise -- actually I didn't finish it. I got abotu 20 pages in and all the characters annoyed me so I stopped.

Broken Prey by John Sanford. This is the 17th in his series and it was pretty good. There was a running theme of the main chacater picking the top 100 rock songs for his iPod and at teh end of the book it has the list, that was more annoying. But the actual story about a serial killer who is most probably an escaped metal patient was nice. Lots of twists in there so you didn't know what was going on. At point I flipped in the back of the book but because I hadn't gotten to the big reveal what I read didn't make much sense.

I'm trying to catch up on SGA, I need to watch the last 3 episodes of last season and then the premiere of this season. I LOVE my dvd player!

Found out that my position will not be made permenent. Which sucks but admin support positions just aren't being made permenant.

However, when my supervisor, Big Boss and I were talking about the recent re-org for our division (2 guys got promotions,..totally deserve it! and two positions are being made permenant) my Big Boss did say "I want to do whatever we can to make you happy."

My supervisor and I had previously talked about this.  She can't give me benefits but she can see if I can go back to being an agency temp (to the agency of my choice) and that way she can give me more money.

Had a bad day ish.  A big part of the stress is money. I'm not very smart with it and every time I miss work for something I don't get paid and that's stressful. There are parts of my job that are boring but I like the people that I work with and it is familiar and if I can get some more money out of this then I'll be okay here for awhile.

I just discovered my freezer door has been open for ... I have no idea how long. I haven't eaten at home in a few days, I've been doing family stuff.

Actually I think the freezer door has been slightly open for a week. Not far open, but just a crack. Everything is melted and gross in there. I think it was barely open and the stuff melted and slid down and pushed it further open.

I moved something around and closed it. There was a bunch fo stuff in there and I'm going to leave it in there until the night before trash pick up.

In vain news my hair is short again after an attempt to see what it would be like grown out. I didn't last very long...just from about Jan. I have pictures from my birthday I can post.

The new stylist I like, she normally cuts lots of guys' hair so she knows about short cuts. I took pictures (including one of me) and she gave me what I wanted. Although maybe next time she needs to use the thinning/texture shears more. I asked about razor cutting but she said she felt it damaged hair and so she doesn't do that. Although with my hair would benefit from it (being fine and lifeless) but she doesn't have a razor. I didn't buy any product because I thought I had some...and I do, but not as much or the types I thought. I must have thrown them out.

This just means I'll have to start experimenting with products.

I was so glad to get the hair cut, it felt like it was weighing me down. You couldn't see my eyes (personally I think my best feature) and I didn't feel like me. Now I do.

There's no hockey being played but the Lightning is changing.

Pavel Kubina is no longer a Bolt. He was an unrestricted free agent and almost everyone pretty much saw that coming for most of the season, even with the cap increase he wanted too much money. Now he's signed with the Leafs for $5mil/year. Leafs SUCK! But I'm going to be watching for Kuby.

John Grahame is gone as well, again he's UFA and frankly after this season the Lightning didn't want him. He's a Hurricane, as a back up to Ward.

Daryl Sydor was traded back to the Stars -- for a 4th round pick.

They signed Filip Kuba, a defensemen who will take Kubina's place (they are both Czech).

Fredrik Modin and Norrena (he was either signed or traded for) was sent over to a team I forget for a goalie who the fans think is questionable.

There was another Dman signing but I can't remember his name.

The main thing is I now have to find a new favorite player.
