A year ago I was moving here! I can't believe it. It seems like just a few months ago and at the same time it seems like I've lived here forever. Quite possibly because I was familiar with the house from when Grandma lived here.

And there are still things I haven't done and stuff that hasn't been unpacked.

Look! hockey players kiss! http://community.livejournal.com/hockey/2559444.html?style=mine

DIdn't go to the beach this weekend, but was lazy. I did clean out my car and find two things I was missing! The son of Mom's co worker came over and landscaped my yard the other day. It looks wonderful! Better than I could ever do and I'm thinking of having him come over once a month. It's not a big yard and it would be less work for him to do this time plus the yard looks so nice! Now it just has to be treated for misquitos so I can go outside and enjoy.

Mom and I had a nice dinner last night, except I lost track of time and missed the first period of the hockey game. I was kind of restless last night so I kept an eye on the game rahter than watching all of it. There's no hockey tonight since the Ducks are out. Tomorrow is game 6 for the Sabres and Hurricanes and I hope the Sabres can rally back. I've picked them as my team since Tampa is out.

I'm going to eat something and then start tackling the kitchen. I hate my kitchen, the sink is so low it hurts my back to do dishes, even when I'm wearing supportive shoes and standing on a towel to cushion my feet my back hurts. Finally I need to do some menu planning and buy groceries for the next few days and maybe read some fan fic which I haven't done in awhile.

I shopped until my feet hurt last night. I ended up getting a Lane Bryant card, I applied to get the discount and then I got the card, which has a tiny limit. But I have clothes suitable for work. 2 pairs of capris (one black and one brown), a faux wrap look crocheted sweater, a cami (to go under the sweater), and top, Not a cami but a tank style thing. The skirt and sweater I bought online came in, but I don't think the color of the sweater looks good on me, so that will be returned.

Also went to Ashley Stewart last night, which was across the hall at the mall. It's a plus size boutique. The very helpful saleslady told me that they get shipments in every day but only get 1 shipment of items in various sizes and once it's gone it's gone. There's a wrap top I might go back and get...but I ended up with a cute brown skirt, an ankle length black skirt (on clearance for$12), and a green cami. I didn't get a top, but I may go back and get it.

Tonight is the start of the conference finals -- Edmonton v Ducks (go ducks!) I'll be watching with Dad. Tomorrow the Lions club is holding a book sale -- paperbacks a quarter and hardbacks a buck! More books! Whee!

I'm really sad about not going to the f2f, but I've enjoyed the pictures I've seen. Last night I had weird F2F type dream but I don't remember enough to really describe it.

I saw the endrochronologist today. She agrees I have PCOS, she was surprised with my history of irregular periods no doctor brought it up. Basically she said I needed to eat right and exercise to take care of a risk of diabetes or heart disease. I'm getting some blood work down because my PCP didn't fax over my cholesteral levels. I'll see her in a month and get a pap and also talk to her about low level birth control pills. She said it was important to have at least 4 periods a year because that reduces the risk of uterine cancer. She recommended walking 45 minutes or 2-3 miles a day. I'll have to work up to that and focusing more on eating lots of veggies and whole grains and a diet low in fat and salt more than any kind of low carb diet.

Of course right now I'm going to go and eat Chinese.

Today was ick. I didn't eat enough during the day, for lunch I had a tiny side salad a hot dog and chips. Then I had a piece of cake in the afternoon and promptly got a sugar rush. By the time I left work I was on the verge of having the shakes, but I ran some errands and then go the shakes so I went to the grocery store and grabbed up some stuff. I've had a frozen dinner and some trail mix and I still feel hungry and kinda hollow but I won't eat anything else. Maybe I'll have a green salad.

Wednesday I see the endrochronologist, I'm anxious to see what she says.

tomorrow I have to call my bank and see what's going on, I've gotten three return check notices, which doesn't make sense since there's plenty of money and I wrote checks between those three that have posted.

Happy Mother's Day (early)! Mom and I celebrated today and it was a really nice day. We drove down to the coast, went shopping, she got new earrings (for herself), got 2 pairs for her sister, and she took an earring down there to see if she could find another pair like it (because she lost one) and the shopkeeper/jewelry maker told her he'd make her a replacement. She picked out a pair of earrings for me to buy her and then I shooed her out of the store while I picked up some other stuff.

We had lunch. It was amazing. She had a grilled cheese sandwich -- Cheddar, Provolone, Swiss with tomato, bacon, thick slice pickles and red onion on rye bread. I had soup and salad. The soup was Potato Leek made with bacon and some kind of cheese that starts with a B --it's a herbed goat cheese.

Plus we bought books and stopped by the beach. It was fun.

Except this morning I knocked over a tiny bottle of perfume (which I got free) and it broke so I reeked of perfume most of the morning and I couldn't get it cleaned up before we left so my house reeks of perfume. I opened the windows and watched the Sabres beat the Senators and the house has aired out. Except the bathroom, I forgot to run the fan.

I also did a little shopping from home and got these two things from Lane Bryant -- this skirt and this top , but in Tawny Brown.

And I'm thinking about bidding on: this outfit, or these skirts , or this top or maybe all of it.

Tampa lost. I wasn't surprised they lost in 5. They were just missing...something...I'm not sure what...to get them winning. Artie got his first play off goal and that's great! I was really glad, he also go moved up to the first line when Prospal went out. I can't wait to see how Artie, Ranger, and Craig mature of the next year. The team is going change, what with the cap and the players who are RFA and UFA. I'm just glad that I don't have to wait a full year to see my guys play again.

Ray Emery got the puck from his first play off game win tonight, Tim Taylor gave it to him. After the actual game Taylor took the puck and told everyone he threw it in the trash and did it to rile up the Senators. In reality he held on to it and during the handshake gave Emery the puck.

I hope everyone is being treated as nicely as I am.

and if any boss is punking out on the day -- a pox upon you!

I have a really great coworkers and a boss that knows how to treat her people right. Today totally surprised me, I knew that there's a company wide thingie tomorrow so I just expected something for that. Then this morning my supervisor says "well, since it's Admin Professionals' Day I'm going to take you to lunch. We just have to wait for O and A to get back." So we went to a great place and when we got there -- my big boss, a supervisor, and my co workers were there with ballons and flowers! And a card! We had a fantastic lunch then I came back to find another little flower left by some of the guys, I couldn't get a hold of them to properly thank them.

Finally -- ice cream cake! Which was also a surprise. They messed up the cake it was supposed to read "Happy Administrative Assistant's Day" but instead read "Happy Administrative Assitance Day". But it still tasted good.

I've had more than one person walk by my desk and look rather enviously at my flowers and balloons.
