I tried to upgrade iTunes. It failed. Now I get this error

Error -1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time

[livejournal.com profile] dcjensen suggested I do a google search for it. I did and went here http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108340 to follow the directions. I got all the way to Step B (locating the folder) and ... I can't locate it. It says with Windows XP you may have to put C:\WINDOWS\Installer in the Address bar of Windows Explorer. Which I tried but I can't get the damn address bar to show up!!!! It's grayed out. I can't get it to function, I can't figure out how to find the folder. I did a search JUST FOR the folder and I ended up with folders but when I went to do the right click properties, I didn't get the right information.

This is maddening.

Fake -- Finished watching it. Finished watching it with the dubbing and not subtitles. Liked it iwth the dubbing better. I didn't really read the reviews on Netflix and now I see it's recommended to read the manga first.

I did a quick check for manga on the public library search to see if they had anything -- and they do! Quite a bit actually and most of it seems to be checked out. I bet I can get somethings through ILL. I recognized a few titles from LJ. Actually the ones I recognized seem to be checked out, all the manga is in the young adult section (so it seems) so I'll have to go down there and check it out.

I was very good and finally took my library books back. But I can't find one. I know it's around here somewhere, but I can't find it and I paid for it, butif I find it in a year I can get my money back.

Also got a new library card --- [livejournal.com profile] gingerk they have the keychain tags! Mom didn't get one when she went and got her card so she's going back and say that they should have offered her a choice and she's getting the key chain thing. Whoo. While at the library I checked out Enchanted Broccoli Forest, the Starving student's vegetarian cookbook (I think that's the right title) and another veggie cookbook. Two paperbacks, I think I have one, but I don't know where it would be. Maybe I checked it out and never finished. Also something else I can't remember. THREE Cds! Tim Buckley. I've seen [livejournal.com profile] hecubot talk about him in b.org and maybe some place else. Annie Lennox and um, something else.

I'm still recovering from being sick so there's feedback to send and I keep looking at gmail and livejournal and thinking "I'll say soemthing" then I don't.

In my search for the Elusive Library Book I went to Dad's. Even though he searched. He's got lot of books now, he's buying them all the time. He told me he's shopping for a new bookcase. And a new couch. And maybe some other furniture. I kept telling him he needed new stuff. The man is 63 he needs nice things. I guess he went looking for bookcases and once out there took a look at furniture and decided to get stuff. Or he's met another woman. This weekend and last weekend he told me he had plans, with someone, but didn't say who. I'm not sure whether or not to ask.

I saw this on [personal profile] alterjess 's lj.

Every time protesters gather outside of our Locust Street health center, our patients face verbal attacks from them. They see graphic signs meant to confuse and intimidate. They are sometimes blocked from entering the building and occasionally they are videotaped. They are offered anti-choice propaganda and free rides to the closest "crisis pregnancy center."

Staff and volunteers are also seen as targets. We are all called murderers, are lectured to about committing sins, and are told we will pay the "ultimate price" for our actions.

You can stand with others in the community against these acts of intimidation and harassment

Here's how it works: You decide on the amount you would like to pledge for each protester (minimum 10 cents). When protesters show up on our sidewalks, Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania will count and record their number each day from October 1 through November 30, 2005. We will place a signoutside the health center that tracks pledges and makes protesters fully aware that their actions are benefiting PPSP.

They give you the option of capping your pledge, which is what I did.

Also Jermimiah came from Netflix. I ended up skimming through the pilot. It was...kind of interesting, but I kept being distracted by the camera work. I assumed the show was widescren and then it wasn't, and there were all these shots that I thought looked cropped (but must not have been), it's weird to explain.

I'm not sure if this is something I could watch all the way through. I'm going to give it a chance and watch without fast forwarding. Although, I'm torn because if I sned it back tomorrow Starsky and Hutch will be here sooner.

Finally, I'm trying Starsky and Hutch.

Fake should be here Friday. It shipped out today so I don't see why it couldn't be here tomorrow. Jermimah shipped out yesterday and it was here today.

Anyway, Fake. This will be the third anime series I've tried. Vampire Hunter D was the first (but that was years back), Sayukai ...that's totally not right...was the other one and I didn't really like it. So I'll try Fake. At some point I'm going to try all the anime series that I see my friendslist watching.

I watched some tv tonight. I tried to watch the DaVinci's Inquest, but I got sucked into Gilmore Girls and also the season finale of NCIS from last season, I hadn't watched it before and wow. Really great ending.

I tried to watch Bones, but, um, obviously I was watching other stuff. David looks good though. He needs to be in a comedy or something where he can act goofy. He does goofy well.

On to the spoilers! House and Gilmore Girls. Read more... )

I've had a headache since 7:30 or so. I've taken something, I've drunk lots of water and still a headache. God I don't want to go to work tomorrow either. Or Thursday, it's going to be the day from Hell Thursday.

I got an early start on the weekend when I went home after my dr's appt. This sinus infection (or maybe the antibiotics) have kicked me in the ass. This weekend I:

stayed up kinda late then slept for about 10 hours

Took a nap that lasted around 3 ish hours

watched lots and lots of vids and tried to make notes to make an lj entry about the Vividcon dvd set but failed. Mostly likely due to the sleepiness

Went over to Mom's and had dinner, once yesterday and once tonight.

Watched some Firefly

Watched Tennis with Mom, which evidentally tuckered me right out becuase I came home and was ready to go to bed around 7 pm. This, I decided, would be a bad idea 'cause then I would be up around 4 or so and that's not good. Although who knows. NOW, of course, it's nearly 10 and I'm more awake. Not wide awake, but not sleepy and falling over tired.

My landlady is coming over after work becuase, finally, ther's a lease to sign. And I'm going to ask her about the screens. It was really nice out this weekend and felt very fall ish. It was nice Wednesday and Monday, I think it only got up to 89F, which after the hot weather is very pleasant. It would be really really nice if I could have screens and let the fresh air in.

Also, watched more of BSG. I need to rewatch episode 6 I think and episode 7 . 7 made me cringe a lot becuase of Gaius. He's so watch from the hall and I tried to skip around and miss his watch from the hall stuff, but then, I miss plot. So I'll have to rewatch it. The quality wasn't all that great. I'm working on getting episode 8.

Tomorrow is work and I have to explain that I was so spacey becuase I was SICK! SICK! I didn't realize. I thought it was smoething minor. I'm still slightly worried about bronchitis and I've been sleeping up right. Which I don't really like, but I have tons of pillows to make it more comfortable.

I watched A LOT of vids this weekend. All of the 2005 vid set, half of the 2004 vid set. Plus a bunch that I just downloaded, plus I was watching some several times while I tried to come up with things to say about them besides "omigod! cool!" Let's see, I watched both of the Hallelujah SGA vids, plus another Hallelujah vid (AtS -- Buckley cover),and rewatched the BtVS vid to Rufus Wainwright's cover of Hallelujah, except I don't know who the vidder is. It hink I have other vids by the same person, I just can't remember. This vid is a Spike and Buffy one. There's Spike's dialoug over the hallelujah chorus. It's called Prayer for the Dying. That brings my list up to 5 vids to with that song. I'm sure there are more, I'd love to see them. As far as the song being over vidded, I wouldn't put it in the same category as My Immortal -- I think there are roughly 20 on the Buffy video database alone.

Now I'm getting sleepy and rambly. Hopefully sometime this week I'll be able to say what I really want about the vids I've seen lately.

I've felt very draggy all week and figured it was just a let down from DCon and also just not having caught up on sleep. And the whole coughing thing.

Turns out the coughing thing and what I thought was mild head congestion is actually a Sinus Infection. The Doctor noted "this is one of the worst I've seen in awhile". Whee. Now I have meds and lots of fluids and a warning to call them back if I start wheezing or having trouble breathing. Since it's settled in my chest there's a chance for bronchitis or something else equally less fun.

Still don't have pictures up from DragonCon. Or a report other than OMIGOD so fun. Next time I'll go to more panels and take more pictures.

I did get a great picture of Mr. B Natural. I think I saw her when I was going up to [livejournal.com profile] shrift and [livejournal.com profile] nestra's room Saturday. I had seen her before and at the elevators it finally dawned on me who she was..."Oh!!! you're Mr. B Natural!!!" she seemed pleased that I recognized her.

I forgot to tape SCI Friday and I'm not heading back out so Ill just "acquire" SGA after it airs. I swear there was something else I was going to say.

VIVIDCON! Watched all the vids on the dvd set, if I had enough energy I'd write something about them. And I've seen BSG up to Season 1 episode 5 and my god this show kicks ass. Katee Stackhouse just keeps knocking it out of the park as Starbuck. The whole thing with her and Adama and him learning the truth was just amazing.

I have met [livejournal.com profile] shrift and [livejournal.com profile] nestra and some of their friends who I'm blurring on their names. But some of their friends are a family that was all there, the daughter was Kaylee and the son a SG1 guy.

There were lots of families at DCon and it's neat to see. There was a cute little boy or girl dressed up as Batman, babyBatman's mom was some kind of faery.

I went to the Firefly panel and met two guys from town, although I meant to say something to them after the panel but we were separated in the great crush of people. The panel was very intersting and we got rather good seats. Over by the sound board, but close enough to see. My camera took really bad pictures but it's not the best camera. The cast was very funny and nice and there was this running thing about Ron calling Morena a whore. I forget when it started, but she shot back something like "Ron I have one word for you Companion. Not what you had in your hotel room last night." or something like that. They were all very funny and very nice and very gracious in the face of truly embarassing things that were said.

Before the panel Ginger and I did the Walk of Fame. We were in line for the Firefly people but they had the men and women split up and I got in the men's line. Adam Baldwin is very handsome and sweet and I totally went all fangirl and forgot what I had wanted to say -- -which was "Jayne was such a funny character and it looked like you had so much fun." and also "I loved Danny on the Inside and his frou frou drink ." but my mind went blank. I did get an autographed picture, so far my only one.

Adam is donating all of the proceeds from the autographs to the Salvation Army.

Merecedes McnAb was at the same table, but I was worried that if said something to her I'd miss my change with Adam.

Then I met Paul McGillion. Unfortunatly he had gone off to do a radio interview and it took so long to get him back that there were more people and it was a bit rushed. I did get a picture with him which was a $10 donation to the REd Cross.

Erin Gray was next to him and I didn't speak to her when there was no one around because I didn't realise that was HER and it was kind of embarassing. But she seems to be an old hand at cons and was trying to get Paul wrangled back.

Kevin Sorbo was there. Actually the were three pieces of tape on the floor when we were in line for the Firefly men. 1 for Firefly women, 1 for men and 1 for Kevin Sorbo. A girl in front of us thought we'd accidentally gotten in the Sorbo line and was worried we'd lose our places. It was rather funny because there was NO ONE in the Sorbo line for the longest time and the staffer would say "IS ANYONE IN LINE FOR MR. SORBO?" and no one would be there. Some people did show up and it was sort of "do you know you are in line for Sorbo?" and, yes, they wanted to see him.

Several people around us joked that we couldn't let ourselves anywhere near him because we'd want to demand to know why he ruined Andromeda and also how he could live with his giant ego.

Then we looked at dealer rooms and I had to get batteries so I couldn't take as many pictures as I'd like. Then we went to look at hte art and tehrew as amazing stuff. And then to see Shrift and Nestra and we had dinner and had the world's worst waitress. And Ginger and I came back.

Also I have teh vividcon dvd set now.

After all Mom's worrying and getting me slightly paranoid (I don't think I really posted that here) about me driving up to Atlanta "It's not safe on Labor Day weekend." The drive was mostly boring.

Seriously. 319 is mostly back country anyway so lots of Georgia landscape and I got in 75 and there was no traffic for a long time. I'm not sure how much of that was people just not travelling becuase of the hurricane.

Also, I didn't have trouble finding gas. I stopped a couple of times and got gas each time I stopped and I paid mostly over $3 gallon, but there was gas. Some little towns I went through while on 319 didn't have gas though.

[livejournal.com profile] gingerk has a lovely home with lots and lots of books and pretty things. She took me to the DeKalb Farmer's Market which I've only been to once and it's such an amazing place! All the choices! two kinds of baby bok choy, purple beans, more kinds of fruit than you can shake a stick at. I saw several types of exotic mushrooms live and in person for the first time. We bought lots of fruit including figs which I don't think I've had ever.

After the Farmer's Market we went to dinner and I had Indian food for the first time. I forgot the name of the dish I had, but it was this chicken and chickpea stew (sort of) flavored with maybe cardamon or cinnamon and had just a little kick of heat. It was served with puffy bread. And we had Naan. All very good.

We're getting ready to leave for Dragoncon! Whoo!
