I didn't get the code for some reason but --- my score was 69!

I had quibbles with the test. Like the "which sentence is better" question. They were all ick. Also there should have been more "all of the above" choices.

Does someone know where I could acquire the sci fi special that was shown last night. I can't seem to find it at my usual spots.

I keep meaning to update and then I distracted.

Century Hotel got here from Netflix! I got to see David Hewlett's ass and it is impressive. Also got to see him kiss a guy, so now I have a nice visual to go with the fanfic.

I only partially watched the movie. Being impatient and not in the mood for the kind of movie it was I fast forwarded through most of it just to get to his parts. I'll re watch it.

I was also anxious to get to the Wire S2 disc whatever. YAY The Wire I fucking love that show. It's starting to build steam. Except Dad stopped by and reminded me about dance so I ended up not finishing the episode.

Movie Rec! The movie is Beautiful Thing, it's British. A very sweet coming of age/teen romance movie. The story is about two boys in the housing projects. Jamie lives with his mum, she does love him but doesn't always show it. Ste lives next door with his dad and brother who beat him. Ste is more popular at school and Jamie looks kind of ... well..he looks like the kid who gets teased. Which he is.

Anyway, Ste and Jamie develop a friendship and fall in love, there are issues, then they get back together, and on Netflix there were comments about the ending being, a bit unrealistic, but it's a teenage love story and almost every straight teenage love story I've seen ends unrealistically. So it's not that bad.

The movie isn't explicit. You see Ste's ass twice, Saundra's (Jamie's mum) boobs. There is boykissing.

Over on b.org I was explaining that I don't get the woobie thing and don't have woobies. Except Ste is a total woobie. So I have to amend this to -- there are no adult male characters I see as woobies.

I'll update in more detail later.

I watched The Wire S2 Disc 2. I forgot how much I love this show, and I bumped up the next dvd on my queue. I also realized I had the wrong disc of Farscape, so I sent it back and then I have to remember to add it back to my queue.

Anyway. The Wire. There are familiar characters and new characters. Someone on Netflix didn't like The Wire (s1) because it's too slow adn it takes forever to get the wire tap to show up and that's what the show is about! pout pout. Mostly the complaint was too slow. But I love the slow build for this. There are so many characters and their different relationships and season 1 took it's time to introduce characters.

Maybe I should whitefont .... Read more... )

Okay enough of that, I still have to do dishes and cook something for dinner/lunch tomorrow. Then there will be more dishes.

I found the missing Netflix dvds!!!

Mom brought me more stuff and I was going through the closet where I shoved all the painting and various other "getting the house ready stuff" and found a Pier One bag. It had some stuff I bought there that I didn't know where to put -- and the missing netflix dvds. The mailer all sealed up and ready to go back AND The Wire!

I spent part of this weekend upset at myself for losing another Netflix dvd. I had it and I thought I put it somewhere safe, but I couldn't find it and had visions that it accidentally got thrown away. Or I put it someplace really safe and promptly forgot where.

Turns out I put it in the mail.

Netflix just sent me an email saying they'd received it.

[livejournal.com profile] makaidiver is so wonderful!!! I just got the package she sent!!!

2 really neat wavy glass bottles - one purple and one pink.

a set of pink coasters

a set of tealight candles - in colorful votives

this amazing dragofly mobile where the bodies of the dragonflies light up!!!!

Thank you! (there will be an email following).

Also I saw in [livejournal.com profile] heuradys's lj that she saw a fox shortly after moving into her place. Which is very very cool. And reminded me that when I was checking out the daylillies after I moved in two dragonflies lazily flew near me. I haven't seen any sense, but I should look harder.

I'm going ot have so many cool things hanging from my ceiling (my dragonfly dream catcher, my two neat mini chandliers, this silver spiral mobile thing, and the dragonfly mobile).

I'm so excited about making a home.

This weekend went by fast. I can't even remember what I did on Saturday. Well, I watched dvds and messed around online, but other than that it's a blank.

Mom wants to start a cleaning trade off -- she used to do it with a friend --either Sat or Sunday they'd spend 1 hr at each others houses cleaning. I'm cool with that, but we ended up spending about 1 1/2 at my house. If you've looked at the pictures of my house you would think "but it looks so good!" Except this morning was the first time I got out of bed and didn't have to go through an obstacle course of video tapes.

Anyway, we got things looking spiffy, then went to lunch. Then Mom was too tired, so I went home. (She did some major cleaning before coming over -- which defeats the purpose). Eventually I went and worked on the pictures. i walked over to mom's so I got some exercise.

Mom's been having lots of joint pain and tiredness and she can't figure out why. The drs are coming up with nothing, but the other day she pulled a dead, dried up tick off the back of her leg. She has no idea how it got there or how long it was there. So she's going back to the doctor and ask about Lyme Disease.

I've got a box of videos that are unlabled. So far I've found mostly SG1 stuff. A few episodes I don't remember watching so I must have set it up to tape and then never looked back. Including some Jonas Quinn episodes -- one called -- The Forsaken (maybe) about a crash landed ship that turns out to be a prison transport. It was pretty good. The prisoners seemed rather sterotypical as far as casting went , I wasn't sure if that was on purpose. And I have to say I LOVE the fact SG1 and A show the episode titles on screen. Saves me tons of time trying to figure out which episode that is exactly.
